About the role:

We are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Site Reliability Engineer to join our team, with a focus on cloud infrastructure, automation, and DevOps principles. While experience is valuable, what's most important to us is your eagerness to learn, adapt, and handle complex challenges. This role is vital for maintaining the operational integrity and scalability of Templafy’s services, ensuring our digital solutions always remain available, secure, and perform at their peak.

As a Site Reliability Engineer, you'll play a crucial role within our team, committed to being the backbone of Templafy's digital services. Your initiative and drive to learn will be instrumental in developing, maintaining, and enhancing our cloud infrastructure and automation strategies. This includes optimizing our software development life cycle processes in Azure DevOps, as well as advancing our disaster recovery and incident response frameworks to ensure our digital solutions are robust and scalable. Additionally, you will be instrumental in our Platform Engineering initiatives, providing a self-service platform that empowers other engineering teams to deploy and manage their services with greater efficiency and autonomy.

A key aspect of your work will be the thoughtful consideration of changes to our production environment. The ideal candidate understands the importance of weighing potential risks against the benefits of innovation, ensuring that any modifications are meticulously validated to uphold the highest standards of system reliability. We're looking for someone who approaches changes with a double-check mentality, recognizing that preserving the integrity of production environments is paramount and that breaking production is something we strive to avoid at all costs.

This position is open for our Copenhagen, Berlin, Cluj, or Eindhoven office

The Team:

The Site Reliability Engineering team is responsible for a wide array of critical operations, from system reliability and performance optimization to security and capacity planning. We believe in 'Infrastructure as Code' to manage changes in production and adhere to the 'Four Eyes Principle' for manual changes, ensuring high levels of traceability and security. Our collaborative culture is deeply ingrained, emphasizing learning and growth with a focus on delivering value and ensuring that Templafy's platform remains robust and scalable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) for reliable and traceable changes in production environments.
  • Optimize system performance through continuous monitoring, tuning, and automation.
  • Contribute to disaster recovery plans, ensuring their effectiveness through regular testing.
  • Enhance security posture by implementing robust security measures and participating in the compliance auditing process.
  • Play an active role in incident management, including fast identification, resolution of service disruptions, and conducting post-mortems to avoid future incidents.
  • Actively participate in a 24/7 on-call roster, providing critical support for incident response and system monitoring to ensure Templafy's platform remains available and reliable at all times.
  • Work closely with development teams to improve the SDLC process and developer tooling, reducing time to production while maintaining high-quality standards.

Main requirements:

You are a naturally curious problem-solver, eager to dive deep into cloud infrastructure and automation challenges. Your dedication goes beyond merely automating repetitive tasks; you are passionate about engineering resilient and scalable systems that underpin Templafy's growth. With a high emphasis on collaboration and communication, you excel in teams that value knowledge-sharing and collective progress. Your commitment to operational excellence is matched by your proactive approach to learning and innovation, constantly seeking out new technologies and methodologies that enhance both system reliability and the developer experience. Understanding the balance between risk and reward, you approach changes with caution and precision, aiming to ensure the highest levels of system integrity and performance.

Tech Stack expertise:

  • Tools: Azure DevOps, Terraform, Helm, Docker, PagerDuty, Python, Bash, PowerShell, and more.
  • Infrastructure: Azure, Azure Kubernetes Service, Azure SQL, and more.
  • Automation and Monitoring: Application Insights, Prometheus, Grafana, and more.

Templafy is a workplace of belongingness. To us this means that you have a voice, you dare to speak up, and your voice is heard. We focus on offering an environment that allows all employees to feel that they belong regardless of race, color, ancestry, religion, gender, gender identity, genetic information, parental or pregnancy status, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, or other status.
