The Role
Telnyx is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Roaming and Wholesale to support our global wireless sourcing initiatives. In this role, you will assist in acquiring and managing partnerships with Mobile Network Operators (MNOs), Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNOs), and global aggregators, focusing on eSIM and roaming solutions. You will contribute to building a robust connectivity portfolio that aligns with Telnyx’s product and strategic goals in regions including North America, EMEA, LATAM, and APAC.
Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will help drive the execution of contracts, manage relationships with wireless providers, and conduct market research to ensure Telnyx remains competitive in the connectivity space. This role is ideal for a professional eager to learn and grow in the telecommunications industry while contributing to a global team.
Responsibilities
Support Strategic Sourcing & Partnerships
- Research and identify potential MNOs, MVNOs, and global aggregators that align with Telnyx’s connectivity goals.
- Assist in developing and maintaining a global connectivity roadmap.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with carrier account managers and wholesale teams under the guidance of senior team members.
Assist with Contract Negotiation & Management
- Support the negotiation process by preparing documentation, analyzing pricing proposals, and reviewing contract terms.
- Maintain a repository of wireless agreements and ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and corporate policies.
- Collaborate with internal teams to monitor contract milestones and renewals.
Market Research & Benchmarking
- Conduct market analysis to understand regional connectivity standards, pricing trends, and regulatory updates.
- Benchmark rates and service quality across vendors to identify potential improvements or opportunities.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to understand technical requirements and vendor capabilities.
- Partner with finance to collect data for financial modeling and budgeting.
- Work with operations to assist in onboarding, provisioning, and managing wireless services.
Performance Monitoring & Relationship Management
- Track vendor performance using pre-defined KPIs, reporting on cost-effectiveness, service quality, and customer satisfaction.
- Escalate issues with vendors to senior team members and assist in corrective action planning.
- Periodically review vendor performance data to support portfolio optimization efforts.
What we are looking for
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Telecommunications, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Industry Knowledge: 1–3 years of experience in telecommunications, carrier relations, or wireless connectivity (preferred but not required).
- Analytical Skills: Ability to work with financial models, interpret pricing structures, and analyze data.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
- Technical Aptitude: Familiarity with mobile network technologies (eSIM, LTE, 5G) is a plus but not required.
- Global Perspective: Enthusiasm for working with international markets and learning regional telecom nuances.
Bonus Qualifications
- Exposure to wireless sourcing, carrier relations, or telecommunications-related roles.
- Experience with SIM provisioning, OTA management, or telecom regulations.
- Basic understanding of GSMA standards and roaming architectures.
