Telnyx is a next-generation Voice over IP (VoIP) provider based out of Chicago. We’ve built a private network using a ‘software first’ approach by leveraging bleeding edge and open source software on top of all the major cloud service providers. We are focused on building a real-time communication platform for developers and application providers to easily integrate voice into their products. Responsibilities
 
- Serve as a senior member of the networking team within Telnyx
- Participate in the design and build-out of our Global IP Backbone
- Participate in near and long term architectural direction of Telnyx Networking
- Participate in building a network with automation of management and implementation as a primary goal
- Engage in POC projects to explore new technologies or alternative methods in applying known technologies
- Provide Tier3 support of the global network infrastructure
- Provide Tier3 network escalation for all network operations
- Desire to work in a startup environment
 
Minimum qualifications
 
- In-depth understanding of networking fundamentals (routing, packet forwarding, design, etc)
- Minimum CCNP, JNCIS, or equivalent experience and knowledge
- Experience with service provider networks or equivalent technologies (Private SP, ISP, etc)
- Extensive experience configuring and implementing Cisco and Juniper network devices
- Understanding and experience with IP networking (routing, tcp/ip)
- Understanding and experience with BGP, ISIS, OSPF, MPLS, and Layer2 technologies
 
Desired qualifications
 
- Extensive career in networking with approximately 10+ years of experience
- Background in service provider network engineering roles
- Background that includes design and architectural experience
- Extensive experience with service provider technologies
- Extensive experience with BGP and MPLS
- Understanding or experience with Cloud Networks (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, etc)
- Experience with opensource platforms (Quagga, BIRD, OpenBSD, etc)
- Understanding and experience with network automation concepts and tools
- Experience with Linux, Container Networking, Bash scripting, Python, Ansible, etc
- Understanding or experience with team frameworks such as SCRUM and Kanban
