KING 5 / KONG 6, TEGNA’s NBC affiliate and Independent stations in Seattle, WA, is looking for a Consumer Insights Strategist to be the data-driver and insights specialist for the stations. Responsibilities:

  • Track target audiences, competitive landscape, market trends, campaign insights,
    post-campaign effectiveness for KING 5, KONG 6, KING5.com, KING 5+ and other
    property assets and its advertisers.
  • Stay current on trends related to consumer behaviors, demographics, media
    consumption, and key business categories.
  • Generate regular and on demand reports on key performance metrics for TV, digital
    and OTT.
  • Find data stories from internal/external sources and turn them into actionable
    materials.
  • Simplify complex information into proper context with actionable insights.
  • Prepare compelling and succinct presentations to different personality types--
    clients, department heads, account executives, news and marketing personnel and
    others.
  • Collaborate with news, sales, and marketing on strategies that drive ratings and
    revenue.
  • Develop and design market research study briefs, methodologies, and consumer
    profiles/personas.
  • Assist leadership team in the presentation updates needed for sports and streaming
    partnerships
  • Work with internal department TCO and 3rd party company Sharebuilder in organizing
    accurate weekly programs for the sales rate cards.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and 3rd party vendors on executing research

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years’ experience in broadcast, digital media or related
  • Ability to understand media audience measurement tools; Comscore (TV & Digital),Media Monitors, Leigh Stowell Qualitative (or comparable service,
    Scarborough/Marshall Marketing, Wide Orbit Media Sales.
  • Strong command of software tools; Tegna Data Studio/Google Analytics,
    ThoughtSpot, MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Results-driven self-starter who can identify the task at hand, organize it and complete it.
  • Proven skills/examples of being a data storyteller, including strong verbal and visual communication.
  • A quick learner who has a high attention to detail and accuracy in a fast-paced
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
 

Pay Range
$65,000$70,000 USD
