Responsibilities:

  • A strong producer will work to craft, build, mold, visualize, and conceptualize the lead story, deep-dive content, and specialized material for the newscast
  • Work directly with Executive Producer & other management to consistently build a high-quality news show
  • Build graphics and use effectively in shows
  • Combine live pictures, graphics, compelling video and emotional sound to create an engaging experience for our audience.
  • Booth continuous coverage on our live streams for breaking news and community events.
  • Meet daily deadlines.

Requirements:

  • Some news producing experience preferred. If you don’t have the experience, convince us why you’d be the ideal candidate.
  • Strong, creative writing skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency in using social media for news-gathering
  • Must be organized and calm enough to handle breaking news situations and changing events
  • Solid journalistic judgement and a news philosophy that emphasizes accurate, fair and unique local content, along with community engagement. 
  • Understanding of the tenets of professional journalism.
  • ENPS, Axis graphics, Chyron experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in journalism, communications or related field.
  • Must be extremely flexible to work different shifts throughout the year, including weekends.
