WKYC-TV in Cleveland, OH is searching for a Photographer/Editor to join our team. Strong candidates understand how news video exists on three screens (television, internet, mobile). And are prepared to record and edit on all three. Qualified candidates must be ready and able to quickly create high-quality content and the content must be ready for air and/or digital use in a timely manner.

This position requires producing original content for WKYC including sharing content with the family of TEGNA television stations.

Working alongside other news staff members, the ideal candidate will also be responsible for responding quickly to breaking news and managing content produced not only by themselves but others. Be an ethical journalist and have excellent communication and time management skills.

 

Responsibilities:

  • The candidate would be able to work camera
  • Audio and editing software to complete daily news coverage
  • Long form promotable stories
  • Setting up interview area,
  • Proper lighting and complete the story in editing.
  • They would also be able to establish live shots from the field and ability to feed content back to the station.

Requirements:

  • Must have 1-3 years' experience as a news photographer.
  • Ability to create/edit material for on-air and web, while meeting deadlines.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends holidays and overtime as needed.
  • We put a premium on personal integrity, teamwork, accountability, problem solving and a strong work ethic.
  • Knowledge of Sony cameras is a must, along with wireless microphones, TVU or Dejero live units.
  • Having solid control of lighting different interviews, good composition. Working knowledge or operation of a live truck is a plus.
  • Travel: Occasionally: 10-25%
  • Work Environment Set: Office: normally performed in a typical interior/office environment
  • Physical Demands Set: Medium work: Involves standing prolong hours, stooping, bending, lifting/pushing up to 25 lbs.
