WTSP-TV, the TEGNA station in Tampa/St.Petersburg is looking for an energetic and ambitious Associate Producer to join our award-wining team.

The ideal candidate will be a passionate storyteller with a desire to help create informative, engaging & memorable newscasts. This Associate  Producer must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, be up to date on the latest trends and tapped into what's happening in the Tampa Bay community.

Responsibilities: 

  • Write accurate, informative stories for newscasts with strong viewer value in an exciting, captivating, and conversational tone
  • Coordinate writing and editing of scripts that mix video, sound and graphics to enhance storytelling
  • Create high-quality video content for broadcast and online platforms.
  • Work and collaborate with editors & producers
  • Manage in-studio guests and clients upon their arrival, as needed
  • Use social media to find new content and enterprise stories
  • Develop and pitch original story ideas for coverage

Requirements:

  • Broadcast writing & editing experience on the professional or collegiate level
  • Sharp social media skills
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Must be able to multitask and manage time accordingly
  • Flexibility and on-the-spot problem solving abilities
  • This position requires skilled writing and attention to detail.
  • Candidates must understand the importance of accuracy and urgency in a daily newscast.
