As an Associate you will help build the next amazing batch of startups, as they grow from early stage to venture-backed companies. From entrepreneurs, to investors, to mentors, your network is about to explode. You will have the opportunity to sit in on mentor meetings – get to know the best entrepreneurs and investors in the city, up close and personally. Historically, most associates end up being employed by one of the teams or by someone they met during the span of the three months. Many also go on to build their own companies.

General Job Description:

This role is responsible for the planning, administrative duties and operational execution of the program from the pre-program stage and throughout the entire duration of the program. 

The Sr. Ops Associate will be the right-hand person for the Program Manager and take the lead to plan and manage events (workshops, office hours, Demo Day etc), as well as logistic aspects of the program.
This role demands great organizational skills, flexibility, and calmness in a high stress and dynamic environment.

This role is a temporary, full time, paid position.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Engage with founders and plan activities, meetings and events that drive them toward success (In person, hybrid and/or virtual)
  • Aid the Program Manager in planning various events throughout the program (Founder stories, weekly meetings, Demo Day, influential speakers)
  • Calendar management - Coordinate the scheduling of mentors, founders, and Global Partners visits
  • Follow best practices and execute upon outlined content and curriculum of the program
  • Video recording & pictures (workshop filming, short videoclips, team pictures etc) 
  • Represent Techstars Montréal AI in local community, both actively and passively

Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years in fast-paced project or program management focused position
  • Strong interest in the discourse around technology, startups & entrepreneurship
  • Proven attention to detail through prior work or life experience
  • Experience in event planning and event logistics
  • Comfortable with a variety of responsibilities 
  • Comfortable with a minimal amount of direction but high expectations
  • Comfortable with online productivity and data management tools and applications
  • Video editing skills
  • Able to handle high stress situations and think on the fly when problems arise, finding swift and effective solutions 
  • Fits the Techstars culture (people-oriented, adaptable, supportive, creative)
  • Authorized to work as a contractor in Canada.
  • Currently live in Montréal or would be willing to live here for the duration of the program (August 2021 - December 2021)
  • Bilingual french and english
