About the Role

Seeking a highly motivated, customer-obsessed Product Manager of Patient Experience Communications. This person is passionate about advancing our mission to help patients feel deeply known, connected and cared for by their care team by empowering providers to deliver simple and delightful modernized healthcare experiences focusing on all aspects of patient communication. The patient communications portfolio includes, but is not limited to email, SMS, marketing technologies, and the Patient Portal. We exist to unlock better healthcare – by helping independent practices bring modernized care to patients everywhere and are looking for a talented Product Manager to get us there. 

Your Area of Focus

  • The Patient Experience (Px) Product Portfolio focuses on delivering solutions for our practices and providers that furthers the patient connection for better health outcomes. The continued digital revolution of healthcare provides an excellent opportunity to bring powerful yet easy to use digital solutions patients desire into the hands of providers. Our Px portfolio focuses on all parts of the patient lifecycle, including patient discovery with our marketplace products and website solutions, patient engagement including patient communications, patient portal, and then patient retention including our surveys and provider reputation products. This role will focus on patient communications all along the patient lifecycle, the patient portal, and building solutions for our providers with easy solutions that allow them to focus on treating the patient. 
  • Product Execution: You will define, build, and launch exceptional products
    • Feature Specification: You are able to effectively think through and specify complex functionality. You are able to determine the right level of detail for a spec - you do not under-spec or over-spec a feature.
    • Product Delivery: You are effective at negotiating the implementation of your current project, and making the right trade-off decisions in order to launch your project in a high-quality manner. Working with your team, you can make recommendations that deliver maximum value to the end user as quickly as possible.
    • Product Quality: You not only can identify and triage issues with a specific feature, but also understand how multiple features are interrelated and catch more complex problems. You can make the right decision in triaging issues that impact the quality of a launch.
  • Customer & Market Insight: You understand and fulfill customer needs
    • Fluency with Data: You are able to use analytics tools not only to analyze results of projects, but to proactively gather insights from ad hoc queries, and to use those insights to drive product recommendations and set realistic goals for upcoming projects.
    • Voice of Customer: You understand when it is critical to gather user input to help make a decision, and when it is not relevant to the decision at hand. You are able to distill user feedback in order to make recommendations for future product enhancements.
    • UX Design: You can independently assess a product design and make specific recommendations for how to improve it. You can articulate visually how to solve a particular product problem, and help guide the design team's direction.
    • Understand Market Opportunities & Competitive Landscape: You can articulate the goals of a series of projects that build towards a broader team goal. Your post-launch analysis not only summarizes results, but also recommends next steps. You strive to achieve 100% of your commitments and proactively communicate when commitments can't be achieved.
  • Product Strategy: You deliver business impact via product innovation
    • Business Outcome Ownership: You drive for business results with a view towards holistic product success. You can not only assess results and define next steps, but also can make decisions that take into account team and company level trade-offs. You can clearly articulate to your peers why your current work is important to the company.
    • Product Vision and Roadmapping: Not only can you articulate how your current work connects to your team's goals, you can also make proactive recommendations on how to better achieve those goals through your forward-looking roadmap. 
    • Strategic Impact: You understand the overall strategic direction of your pillar and the company. You seek to make a meaningful contribution to that strategy via your product work.
  • Influencing People: You take initiative and influence how we market, sell, and talk to our customers about the product and product advancements. You are an excellent communicator adjusting the delivery for varying levels of the organization. 
    • Stakeholder Management: You are fully aware of the broad set of stakeholders you need to align behind not only your current project, but any planned follow-on work. You can integrate their feedback and make recommendations for the best path forward, escalating when necessary.
    • Team leadership: Your leadership shows up by leading the dev squad, being part of building your dev team's culture, and supporting the team camaraderie. You have the ability to display cross-functional and matrixed leadership across the org to get a project to the finish line.
    • Managing up: You effectively communicate status, progress, and outcomes to senior management. You proactively highlight any issues blocking your forward progress on a project, and ensure you are setting accurate expectations with your manager on your current set of work. You proactively work with your manager to get feedback on your work.

Your Professional Qualifications

  • 2-5 years experience bringing customer-facing technology products to market 
  • Experience managing B2B SaaS products 
  • High level of experience with communication technologies and their legal guidelines (email, texting, communication apps), and MarTech (Marketing Technology) 
  • Experience in healthcare technology, FitTech (fitness tech), patient-facing are a plus
  • Superb written/presentation/oral skills, ability to easily interface with customers, executives, peers and engineers
  • Ability to identify metrics/key performance measures and use data to drive decisions that enhance the customer & user experience
  • Adaptable and comfortable with an often fast-paced and dynamic startup work environment
  • Comfortable with being hands on as needed and understands that no job is beneath a team member
  • Strong technical understanding of communications technologies and software to bridge communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong analytical skills, SQL a plus
  • Experience working with Agile and Scrum methodologies
  • Experience with Jira/Confluence a plus
