Director, Individual Giving
Team Rubicon (TR) is seeking a Director, Individual Giving to join our Development team! The Director, Individual Giving to lead the organization’s Major Gifts and Annual Giving programs, driving revenue growth through a donor-centric fundraising strategy. The Director, Individual Giving will manage a team of frontline fundraisers, cultivate relationships with high-net-worth individuals, and develop solicitation and stewardship strategies that align with TR’s mission. The Director, Individual Giving will collaborate across TR leadership, Operations, and Brand & Communications to ensure cohesive donor engagement and storytelling. This individual must be a strategic, results-driven fundraiser with a proven track record of securing major gifts and leading high-performing teams in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Duties:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive Major Gifts strategy to grow TR’s Individual Giving portfolio.
- Manage a team of frontline fundraisers across the country, providing leadership, mentorship, and accountability.
- Maintain, cultivate, and develop a portfolio of major gift prospects, focusing on gifts of $25,000 and above.
- Identify, qualify, solicit, and steward high-net-worth individuals, creating customized engagement plans that align with their philanthropic goals.
- Work closely with TR leadership to develop and implement solicitation plans for major gift prospects that align with organizational priorities.
- Oversee a donor-centric leadership annual giving program, working closely with Brand & Communications to craft targeted messaging and campaigns.
- Conduct personal visits, calls, and other donor communications on a regular basis, ensuring strong relationship management and stewardship.
- Assess planned giving opportunities and develop a network of resources to support legacy giving initiatives.
- Prepare compelling major gift proposals, impact reports, and fundraising materials that communicate TR’s mission and impact.
- Maintain accurate donor records and track all engagement activities in TR’s donor database.
- Represent TR at donor events, special engagements, and industry conferences, strengthening relationships with key supporters and prospects.
Education and Background:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 8+ years of experience in fundraising or nonprofit management, with a focus on individual giving
- Proven success in securing and managing six- and seven-figure individual gifts
- Strong team leadership experience, with a track record of managing and mentoring frontline fundraisers
- Experience building and maintaining relationships with high-net-worth individuals
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire donors
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including ability to efficiently create and manipulate Excel data
- Proficiency in donor database management and CRM platforms
- Strong strategic thinking and data-driven decision-making skills
Special Requirements:
- This is a full-time; remote and can be based anywhere within the United States OR a hybrid in-office position based out of Los Angeles, CA and offers a 3/2 hybrid work schedule and provides a flexible & non-traditional work schedule (relocation expenses not provided)
- Evening and weekend schedule supporting leadership meetings, video conferences, events, and operations
- Required: This position requires up to 40% travel for site visits, conferences, and donor meetings
