Tickets.com is looking for a Senior Manager, Software Engineering passionate about building engaging products for our fans. 

The Opportunity: The Manager of Software will be responsible for management of personnel and all the day-to-day activities of a software development team. Will ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, meet the documented requirements, and with an acceptable level of quality.  Also will participate in all product strategy, architecture, and planning meetings as they relate to the product.

 

This position will evaluate existing applications to determine technical changes, scheduled projects, resources and monitors project timelines. 

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Participate in software development planning, design & architecture meetings
  • Manage design & implementation of projects and products
  • Research and remain current with relevant technology stacks and best practices
  • Advise IC’s when creating POC’s where appropriate and articulate the recommended approach
  • Help identify and communicate obstacles or potential issues as projects progress
  • Set example for team in taking ownership/responsibility for accurate and on-time project delivery
  • Day to day support of all direct reports.
  • Ensure all appropriate equipment is in place for all direct reports to complete their assigned tasks.
  • Goal setting for team and direct reports.
  • Provide training for direct reports to meet personal and organizational goals.
  • Provide leadership and direction as it related to software development projects.
  • Conduct regular staff meetings to ensure priorities are communicated and resources allocated accordingly.
  • Communicate daily, weekly and monthly assignments to all direct reports.
  • Manage project scope within all assigned software development projects.
  • Ensure all projects are documented.
  • Ensure all assigned software development projects are completed on time, meet the documented requirements and with an acceptable level of quality.
  • Appropriately handle employee questions, concerns, and follow up on issues to ensure a positive work environment
  • Develop and encourage open lines of communication to maintain and promote positive employee relations
  • Promote employee engagement; recognize employee participation, successes and ideas
  • Ensure policies and procedures are followed by and applied fairly to all employees
  • Develop and promote a blameless and constructive team culture

 

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Computer Science (or equivalent) is required
  • A minimum of 4-6 years of managing software engineers/teams.
  • A minimum of six to eight years as a software engineer
  • Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other frontend technologies (ReactJS, Angular, NX)
  • Hands on experience with a deep understanding of relevant server containers and cloud technologies, for example, Node, GCP, AWS, etc
  • Hands on experience with a deep understanding of object oriented and multithreaded or asynchronous programming methodologies required
  • Experience with REST API implementations / frameworks, knowledge for XML & JSON a plus
  • Ability to interface with all levels of employees
  • Specifically, to work cooperatively with software engineers, system administrators, product managers and other stakeholders
  • Ability to work both independently with little supervision and in a team environment
  • Must have a willingness and patience to teach others
  • Must be articulate and communicate effectively, both in written and oral formats, with a specific ability to author and communicate technical designs and documentation
  • Must practice regular & continued self-education
  • Exercise troubleshooting and problem solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organization skills

 

Salary Range is $155 – 185K
