The Senior Vendor Program Manager role will be responsible for working with our strategic league partners and vendors to execute a functional program that enables scalability, faster time to market, and increased development capacity to provide Clubs with more flexibility to innovate within the MLB Ballpark app.    

The MLB Ballpark app Vendor Program is designed to support Clubs’ interest in experimenting with fan-facing or market-specific features and functionality that are not otherwise available in the MLB Ballpark app using third-party vendors. In this role, the Senior Vendor Program Manager will be responsible for overseeing and streamlining the integration of third-party vendors into our state-of-the-art app.  You will work alongside our Certified System Integrators (CSI) partners, who are trusted third-party resources that will facilitate and support MLB in the review, approval, onboarding, launch, and maintenance of third-party vendor integrations.

The Senior Vendor Program Manager will not only help maintain and ensure compliance with the end-to-end process from new vendor requests to implementation but also proactively work to iterate and evolve to ensure a streamlined, transparent, and efficient process.   Additionally, the Senior Vendor Program Manager will be responsible for API and Reporting documentation, certification and/or analytics, project management duties, and delivery of key milestones and related stakeholder communication, working directly with various departments across the league office, Clubs, CSIs, and applicable third party vendors. 

As a Senior Vendor Program Manager, you will be working on multiple high-exposure revenue-generating projects for Clubs within the MLB Ballpark app.  This role requires exceptional organizational skills, strong communication abilities, and a keen understanding of technical and political nuances. You will be the driving force behind a seamless integration process, managing hundreds of integrations across 30 baseball teams and ensuring timely and successful outcomes. You Will:

  • Develop and implement a robust and efficient process and program standards for screening, approving, and managing third-party integrator requests.
  • Manage and organize multiple concurrent implementations across various technologies, vendors, and locations
  • Manage relationships with Certified System Integrators, setting clear expectations and ensuring that they adhere to established timelines and quality standards.
  • Maintain relationships with the vendors to ensure compliance with all integration requirements and business agreements.
  • Collaborate closely with key stakeholders at all of the 30 Major League Baseball clubs to understand their unique needs, keeping them informed of the status of their integration requests and addressing any concerns or issues.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional MLB internal teams, including but not limited to product owners, engineers, quality assurance, and marketing, to ensure seamless integration of third-party vendors into the baseball mobile app.
  • Continuously evaluate and optimize the integration process to minimize bottlenecks, reduce turnaround times, and improve overall efficiency.
  • Help create and maintain clear, concise product documentation (i.e., requirements documentation, process guidelines).
  • Lead all aspects of reporting related to vendor solutions, including but not limited to establishing baseline requirements and enforcing compliance with vendors, providing real-time or near real-time reporting of transactions or engagements, as required by our vendor agreements.  This also includes maintenance, dashboard visualization, analysis, and compiling insights and recommendations based on data and analytics using provided tools. 
  • Other program-based operational tasks as defined by the supervisor or leadership.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in program or project management, with a focus on system integration, software development, or technology partnerships.
  • Detail-oriented and solution-based thinker with demonstrated success in managing large-scale, multi-vendor projects with complex approval and quality assurance processes.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at various levels of technical and political sophistication.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to make quick strategic decisions, prioritizing and executing goals
  • Working knowledge of mobile app development, APIs, and software integration is a strong plus.
  • Has the ability to understand new technologies quickly
  • Highly proficient in Google suite of products, including Docs and Sheets; Understanding of APIs,  XML / JSON data structures
  • Deep understanding of the baseball industry and a passion for enhancing the fan experience through innovative technology.

Salary Range is $110-135K
