Animal HealthLink (AHL) is on a mission to redefine the veterinary emergency and after-hours triage model. Founded out of passion for veterinary emergency medicine and lack of non-clinical opportunities for RVTs, we saw the veterinary labour challenges worsen during the pandemic, however there is a large experienced non-clinical workforce eager to help. 

As our team and company continues to scale, we are looking for a Director Business Development to join the team. Reporting to the CEO, this person will be responsible for driving revenue with a consultative selling approach.  Overseeing the entire sales cycle, the Director of Business Development manages client relationships from initial touch point, all the way through to the onboarding phase, collaborating with the Director of Operations to ensure a seamless handover.

What you’ll do:

  • Build long term relationships with multiple stakeholders in the Veterinary Industry, targeting key decision makers in their respective  executive teams.
  • Establish and set-up scalable business development and sales processes.
  • Develop marketing campaigns and product strategy to ensure market product fit. 
  • Attend veterinary conferences across North America.
  • Create and execute outreach expansion plans for different target regions and strategic industry stakeholders, such as veterinary schools.Hire, manage, and grow the Sales team.
  • Manage short and long sales cycles in a fast paced environment while maintaining the highest level of customer service. 

What you bring: 

  • You have 5+ years experience in a similar role and industry, ideally the veterinary industry. 
  • You are natural at building rapport, communicating ideas, and getting people on board.
  • You understand the environment, industry, and pain points of our clients – and how AHL can help various stakeholders. 
  • You are innovative and assertive in your sales approach, while consistently maintaining empathy and understanding of the veterinary industry sales nuances.
  • You are driven by continuous learning with a focus on best practices and a pulse on the latest industry trends.
  • You navigate ambiguity with ease and can keep up with changing requirements.
  • Flexibility to travel and attend conferences
