Who You Are: 

The Data Strategy Director will be part of the Data Strategy team, providing data-driven expertise across all parts of the business and be the lead day-to-day contact for their accounts. Ideal candidates are comfortable owning multiple accounts and have experience integrating data strategy capabilities and solutions into the broader organization. They should drive their clients’ business forward - making the people and our work smarter and braver.  

All Data Strategy Directors are expected to: 

  • Provide the energy, support, ideas, and inspiration for the team 
  • Champion a culture of effectiveness ensuring we’re driving effective work through clear objectives 
  • Build and nurture a trusted relationship with Insights clients and Brand clients 
  • Actively stay on top of the latest data capabilities and tools out there 
  • Ideate and provide unique data-driven solutions to our brand’s business and marketing problems 
  • Consistently deliver clear, unexpected insights for any brief 
  • Collaborative with Strategists, Connections Strategists, Social Teams, Brand Management, and Creative peers 
  • Be curious about their client business’ and the why behind the data 
  • Prepare and deliver presentations or workshops to help educate and inspire clients and internal teams to effect more strategic, cutting-edge creative work. 

 

What You’ll Do: 

The ideal candidate will be an expert in all things brand data strategy, research, insights, and brand effectiveness. 

Responsibilities include: 

  • Utilize a variety of research tools to audit and examine the 4Cs - company, category, competition, and culture - relevant to your brand to unlock disruptive opportunities. 
  • Be an expert on your brand, their audience, and their competitors - refreshing your knowledge consistently, and bringing new insights to your coworkers. 
  • Translate several datasets into a sharp synthesis with a clear and actionable POV.  
  • Create stories with data, weaving it into the strategy and creative briefs. 
  • Define and build audiences, uncover core insights while collaborating with strategic partners.  
  • Build unique and comprehensive measurement frameworks across upper and mid-funnel campaigns.  
  • Showcase a deep understanding of relevant brand equity and brand lift vendors and their capabilities.  
  • Manage the end-to-end campaign reporting process for creative brand performance including data collection, data management, quality assurance, and report development. Recommend and lead the implementation of additional streamlining. 
  • Develop, field, and analyze quantitative surveys in self-service primary research tools. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • 8+ years of experience in marketing intelligence, or consumer insights, marketing research or insights in advertising or marketing 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Advertising, Marketing, Business or a related field
  • Advanced experience of a wide range of social and digital research and intelligence sources:
  • Brand analysis tools - YouGov BrandIndex, BERA
  • Syndicated research and social research tools - Global Web Index, YouGov Profiles, Helixa
  • Social listening tools: Netbase, Brandwatch
  • Competitive social media tools: Pathmatics, Rival IQ
  • Primary quantitative research tools - OnePulse, Suzy, Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey, etc
  • Brand measurement partners - IPSOS, DISQO, etc.
  • Search, website, and app data tools such as Google Trends, SimilarWeb, and AppBot
  • Data visualization or BI tools - PowerBI, Looker Studio, Tableau
  • Advanced Excel capabilities
  • Proven experience working on data-driven solutions that impact the business
  • Ability to think creatively and tell a story with data
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrate ability to prioritize tasks and manage own workload while handling multiple projects simultaneously and independently
  • Experience with data visualization and presentation software (Google Slides, Powerpoint, Keynote)

Location: 

Given the nature of our Strategy team and the client assigned to this role, we are only considering candidates that currently live in or wish to relocate to New York City, in the near future (first 60 days of employment). 

The annual salary range for this role is $150,000-$200,000 and may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic location and experience. Other compensation includes relocation costs, if applicable.
