Who You Are:

As a leader within the Hive, the Global Business Director helps shape our client’s strategic path outside of the US, partnering with them to realize their vision. In partnership with the Business Lead, the Global Business Director will help deliver engaging, distinctive, and meaningful communications that drive an intended behavioral/emotional consumer response, delivering customer and financial outcomes for our Hilton client, whilst striving for creative excellence.

The Global Business Director acts as a custodian of our client’s brand and a champion of their customer.

The Global Business Director is a business savvy trusted client partner that key stakeholders naturally look to, to help weigh options, evaluate trade-offs and make decisions. With an in-depth understanding of the client’s business, and a passion for exceptional work this individual is determined to make a dent in the world.

This role is being hired out of our TBWA London office and candidates must currently live in or wish to relocate to London.

 

What You’ll Do:

The Global Business Director’s primary responsibility is to grow TBWA’s Global Hilton footprint, and ensure continuity, and consistency, across the brand in non US markets, and to share / integrate global learnings with the rest of the TBWA business team to strengthen the US market work.

Command of the Global Business:

  • Has deep knowledge of our client’s business generally, but particularly as it applies outside of the US; this individual understands the inner workings of their business ensuring we’re able to offer perspective helping to guide the decision making process
  • The Global Business Director works to integrate global expertise with the rest of the Hilton Business team, and share insights that will strengthen the work across the business
  • They provide support for markets in setting up teams, building scopes, addressing client needs, and aligning with global requirements
  • They provide partnership in the development of local work and preparing each team for success with local clients
  • They manage ongoing client and agency touchpoints inclusive of weekly statuses, monthly planning meetings and bi-annual global summits
  • They are responsible for partnering with the other global leads to roll out and adhere to a global process and governance
  • They are responsible for business and thought leadership for the global markets, taking successes and learnings from the US and applying them to the global markets
  • The Global Business Director is able to spot issues before they happen and take steps to ensure we maintain the strength of our client partnerships
  • They are able to identify opportunities to grow the TBWA Global Hilton footprint, and develop a business plan to expand the business globally
  • You have a deep understanding of the Hilton brand platform and campaign, and can apply that knowledge in your feedback across the global markets work

  • They are articulate and ooze confidence. They are always poised and ready to react to whatever question or challenge may come their way. The right candidate is a go getter, a self-starter that is passionate about solving complex business problems and operational challenges, they see the role of a businessperson as more than just the typical ‘Account person’
  • The Global Business Director studies every situation, understands the work we present, and has a well thought out point of view in preparation for any meeting, whether it be internal with key agency stakeholders or externally with clients
  • The Global Business Director is decisive in ambiguous situations and can effortlessly navigate even the most complex debates ensuring we always get to clarity
  • They are able to navigate multiple markets, layers of agencies and client personnel, have an opinion and enforce that opinion

Enterprise Leadership:

  • You know what it takes to run a business and you manage your clients this way
  • You maintain and apply a broad understanding of financial management principles to ensure decisions are fiscally sound and responsible
  • In partnership with the Business Lead and your Finance Business Partner, you are responsible for the profitability of your client business. You are responsible for scope development, monitoring utilization, and team resourcing
  • You see even the smallest briefs as an opportunity for growth, and know how to unlock potential
  • With an understanding of the broader TBWA/ Omnicom offering, in partnership with the Business Lead you look for ways to outsource or offshore aspects of your business in order to drive efficiency, optimizing your operation to increase profitability. You are obsessed with the numbers as you have skin in the game, you sweat utilization as you appreciate and understand how we make money as a business
  • You help drive ways to increase scope within the global markets, or to drive involvement of TBWA NY within the global work

  • The Global Business Director is comfortable at the center of agency / client debate. They demonstrate a deep understanding and compassion for both sides, removing emotion, and is able to develop an argument based on fact and through persuasion sell that argument back to both parties

Location:

Given the nature of our global Business team and the client assigned to this role, we are only considering candidates that currently live in or wish to relocate to London in the near future (first 60 days of employment).

The annual salary range for this role is up to £130,000 and may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic location and experience. Other compensation includes relocation costs, if applicable.
