What you will do…

• You bridge the gap between user experience (UX) / user interface (UI) design and strategic plans to achieve business goals and meet user needs.
• You transform user needs and business requirements into user flows, customer journeys, and strategies for how you will use best-in-class design techniques.
• You lead and conduct rapid prototyping sessions and workshops with product managers and engineers, to ensure the same understanding and explore early on design solutions. You apply design methodologies to coach internal stakeholders toward user-centricity.
• You set design requirements by working closely with various people, from product management to engineering to turn user problems into product opportunities.
• You set high visual and interaction design standards and drive those within the team of product designers and engineers to the release.
• You develop Taxdoo’s component library visually and strategically within our design tool of choice (Figma) to the next level, by mirroring a pre-existing react-based component library and its variants.
• You will work with peer product managers, content designers, and engineers to break down complex problems, help to define hypotheses, and thoughtfully iterate from “minimal lovable” to mature, excellent product experiences.
• You will collaborate with our Product Researchers, to translate insights into actions that improve Taxdoo’s user experience.
• Generally, you share knowledge and embrace a user-centric way of working within our product community and beyond!

What are you good at

• You have exceptional communication skills - proficient in English and German (written and spoken).
• You have a degree (B.S., B.A., Diploma, M.A.) in Communication Design, Interaction Design, Information Design, UX Design, Computer Science, or the equivalent of the experience demonstrable in a portfolio.
• You have at least 5 years of proven experience working with UX & UI Design and prototyping tools (Example: Figma, Miro) 
• With your strength of methods, you can work independently and creatively at a high level.
• You can build your components inside or - when needed - outside of a systematic design approach and you feel comfortable taking over documentation or pattern-definition tasks if needed.
• You build designs along W3C, and make sure that WAI-ARIA guidelines are up-to-date regarding web accessibility.
• You have previous experience in handling release management and related communication.
• You are a reliable, collaborative, and friendly team player.
• Beneficial: Experience with coding, HTML, CSS, and design systems as well as experience in complex domains - banking, accounting, or taxation and building B2B software applications, preferably in a venture-backed SaaS environment.
