About the Team

Targa’s Operations team plays a critical role in the company, by planning and managing the flow of vehicles from the point of supply to our customers around the world. We ensure customer satisfaction by delivering vehicles safely, efficiently, and on-time. The team operates cross-functionally, collaborating closely with Supply, Sales, and Finance, as well as external vendors, customers, and partners.


How You’ll Contribute

As Operations Manager, your mission will be to successfully execute all vehicle trading contracts globally (including physical movements and associated documentation) while achieving targets for shipping timeliness, safety, and cost-effectiveness. You will be responsible for hands-on coordination of shipments, as well as supervising your team to meet these objectives, and will report to the Director of Operations in the NY HQ.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Ensure the successful operation of the full trade lifecycle from order to cash
  • Plan and oversee physical movements of vehicles from point of origin to end customers globally (Asia, Europe, South America, Middle East & Africa)
  • Coordinate and oversee all shipment documentation, including B/L, Packing Lists, Certificates of Origin, Insurance, etc
  • Work closely with banks to manage all trade finance operations (L/C advice, review, credit facility utilizations, documentary presentations, discrepancy handling, payment follow up, etc)
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Supply, Sales, Finance, Administration
  • Supervise operations team members
  • Optimize transportation methods, routing and schedules
  • Expand logistics vendor network, and negotiating to reduce transportation costs
  • Occasional travel to visit operations and vendors


What We’re Looking For

  • 4+ years working in Operations, Logistics, International Trading, Trade Finance, or other similar roles
  • Strong understanding of international ocean shipping, as well as all associated terminology and documentation (B/L, Packing Lists, COO, COI, etc)
  • Experience handling Letters of Credit (L/C) and other trade finance instruments
  • Experience with logistics in Latin America and Asia
  • Attention to detail and diligence. You will be responsible for handling high-value transactions and critical shipment documents.
  • Good judgement and problem solving skills. You are comfortable making independent decisions under pressure.
  • You are self-motivated, and possess a strong sense of urgency to achieve your objectives with minimal supervision
  • You posses a growth mindset, always seeking to improve yourself and your surroundings.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish (additional languages would be a plus)
