We’re building an amazing team and we’re looking for an ambitious and purpose-driven Graphic Designer to join the team.

Reporting to the Brand Manager, the Graphic Designer will be a brand guardian and protect the way Tandem’s brand is presented. They will ensure consistency, making sure we are presenting one strong, consistent brand identity and are connecting team members at the same time.

Led by our Chief Impact and Marketing Officer, The Marketing team are at the core of our Tandem brand. They promote Tandem to consumers ensuring that we are providing hard working people across the UK with sustainable ways to borrow and save.

Our aim is to engage with and, ultimately, help power the potential of our customers, people, partners and investors.

What you will be working on:

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Being a brand guardian, maintaining brand integrity across all company marketing initiatives and communications.
  • Working with the marketing team to interpret creative briefs gathered from internal team members or external ones. You’ll determine their requirements and timescale.
  • Working on both digital and traditional creative design
  • Following and translating Tandem’s brand guidelines and applying across all brand assets. These could include social media content, recruitment ads and our monthly internal magazine for example.
  • Working with the marketing team and managing their expectations.
  • Work very closely with the internal digital design team to ensure we are always aligned.
  • Developing concepts, infographics, and layouts, including making decisions about fonts, images, and considering accessibility.
  • Keeping the team up to date on your projects, listening to and acting on feedback, and explaining the rationale behind graphic design decisions.
  • Reviewing final layouts and suggesting improvements if required.
  • Keeping up to date with design and software trends.
  • liaising with external printers or production teams to ensure deadlines are met and material is printed or presented to the highest quality.

What we're looking for:

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following experience skills and behaviours:

  • You have at least 3 years’ experience in a Graphic Design role
  • Have a foundation degree, a higher national diploma or a degree in graphic design, illustration or equivalent
  • You’re a positive, confident, outgoing person who relishes building positive, fruitful relationships with team members
  • Excellent teamworking skills to effectively collaborate with other creatives

 Qualities we look for:

  • Creative thinking to devise original and exciting visual concepts
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks, as they often work on multiple projects concurrently
  • Solid knowledge of design software, such as Illustrator and InDesign, and photo-editing packages, such as Photoshop
  • An understanding of the application of design across various digital and social platforms
  • Experience of video production and editing would be a bonus
