Echosonic is an early-stage start-up based in Montreal, Canada. The company aims to bring machine learning inference and training to sensors, specifically for audio signal processing. Echosonic was establish in 2022 and recently received funding that will enable it to build the next generation of smart microphones with on-sensor processing capabilities and its first prototype. We are looking to grow our team while also building ground-breaking technology.  

As the embedded system engineer, you will 

  • Optimize the proprietary Echosonic circuit for audio signal feature extraction 
  • Manufacture and test analog circuit and its integration with the MCU or FPGA
  • Develop the data handling strategy for high-speed reading of analog samples
  • Work closely with the edge AI engineer to iterate hardware design based on specific use cases
  • Work closely with the MEMS research team to help the development of MEMS on-sensor audio processing demonstration for its working principle 

What we are looking for in our team member: 

  • Bachelor or master’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or similar engineering background 
  • Hands on experience with analog circuit design/testing and PCB fabrication
  • Experience working with MCUs or FPGAs
  • Familiar with common data acquisition systems
  • Experience with embedded systems for audio processing will be a plus
