This position reports to the Head of Product
Your Responsibilities will include:
- Building the vision and roadmap for the Takealot marketing portfolio with an emphasis on integrating our marketing tech stack with our customer-facing platform
- Working with business owners to understand their strategy, requirements, and priorities that can help translate their needs into projects for engineering teams
- Taking initiative to identify critical problems and drive solutions
- Suggesting ideas to solve customer challenges and validate them in close collaboration with UX
- Eliciting low-level functional requirements and documenting these requirements such that engineering teams can compile detailed technical specifications.
- Collaborating with technical lead and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze trade-offs between usability and performance needs
- Setting timelines, drive project schedules, and lead cross-functional development teams from design through to release
- Extracting key insights from data for post-launch impact analysis
- Understanding key technical KPIs to ensure alignment with business KPIs
- Reviewing the test plan and test scripts to ensure quality and coverage
- Performing user acceptance testing
Attributes Required:
- Must have a proven track record of execution with the ability to formulate a detailed product roadmap
- Ability to wear multiple hats to guide junior product managers, business analysts, UX experts, and engineers to deliver world-class products
- Be solution-oriented, accountable, highly motivated, and have a robust personality
- The ability to take initiative in ambiguous situations by identifying critical problems and driving solutions
- Stakeholder management (both communicating and reporting to key stakeholders)
- Detail-orientated written and verbal communication skills
- Technical understanding of the software development process
- Data-driven decision-making capabilities
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in a related field with at least 5 years of product management experience or exposure (through projects or responsibilities)
- If the degree/diploma qualification requirement isn’t met, at least 8 years of product management experience or exposure (through projects or responsibilities)
- Understanding of marketing principles, technologies, and tools (e.g., CRM, marketing automation, marketing channel attribution, analytics, marketing adtech, affiliate marketing)
- Experience in an e-commerce environment or a mobile app-based environment would be an advantage.
- Knowledge about marketing technology products like Google Analytics, Braze, and AppsFlyer is highly desirable.
