Takealot.com, a leading South African online retailer, is looking for a highly talented Marketplace Promotions Buyer to join our team in Cape Town.

This position reports to the Head of Merchandising and Promotions
Your responsibilities will include:
- Deliver against hard key commercial and service level performance indicators
- Negotiate promotional offers with our sellers
- Drive customer awareness of seller listings through promotional & deals levers
- Build the deals/promotional pipeline in correct product mix (assortment and depth)
- Inventory availability management for promotional/deals lines
- Maintain and grow relationships with existing marketplace sellers
- Continuously assess industry and market trends locally and internationally
- Contribute to improvement and optimization of promotional & deals processes
- Plan and execute joint marketing activities with sellers
- Work closely with Divisions and Marketplace team to ensure strategic alignment
- Work closely with Customer Service to resolve related queries

Qualifications/Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Commerce and/or 5 years related industry experience in Buying, Business Development or Sales
- Proven track record of negotiations and sourcing
- Existing industry networks advantageous
- Competence in Excel in terms of data analysis
