takealot.com, a leading South African online retailer, is looking for a highly talented Head of Personal Shopper Program to join our team in Cape Town.

The position reports to the Head of Business Development.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Own the evolution of the Personal Shopper Program; including the proposition to Personal Shoppers and supporting technology.
- Develop and implement strategies to drive recruitment and retention of Personal Shoppers.
- Establish scalable processes and oversee operational improvements to meet business objectives and scale the Personal Shopper business and operations from pilot to nationwide programme.
- Own and manage the P&L of the vertical to drive Personal Shopper and customer satisfaction; frequency and manage unit economics.
- Lead development of technology and tools to support Personal Shoppers; sales and operations.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with other teams including Marketing, Operations, Customer Service, Retail, Marketplace, Finance, Product and Engineering.
- Stay up-to-date with industry best practices in e-Commerce and direct sales to ensure strategy remains cutting-edge.
- Evaluate, launch and manage partnerships as needed, including with suppliers and funders.
- Lead a team to drive performance.

Qualifications and experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field. An MBA or related advanced degree is advantageous.
- 7 years commercial experience.
- 3 years leading a team.
- Experience in townships, rural areas and informal markets.
- Experience in direct sales advantageous.
- Experience presenting to senior managers and the C-suite.
- Experience in the tech sector / building a product from the ground up advantageous.
