This position reports to the Head of Digital Design of Mr D.
Purpose of the role: The Junior Designer supports the creative team in developing design concepts and delivering compelling visuals. Eager to learn and contribute, this role involves assisting with design tasks, refining technical skills, and actively participating in collaborative efforts to meet project goals
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with Design Execution:
- Aid in the creation of design elements, following the direction of senior designers.
- Prepare visual presentations by designing art and copy layouts.
- Help Manage project deliverables and deadlines within the scope of design tasks.
- Contribute to the organization and preparation of design resources.
- Engaging in Collaboration and Feedback
- Active Team Participation: Share ideas and feedback in meetings.
- Feedback Implementation: Incorporate feedback into design revisions quickly
- Focusing on Skill Development:
- Continuous Learning: Seek out learning opportunities and stay up-to-date with trends.
- Regular Practice: Experiment with and refine design skills through regular practice.
Attributes required:
- Design Software Skills: Basic to intermediate knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and Figma.
- Core Design Principles: Understanding of color theory, typography, and layout.
- Digital & Print Projects: Initial experience with a variety of design mediums.
- Team Collaboration: Ability to work well in teams and embrace feedback.
- Portfolio Development: Beginning to curate a diverse portfolio showcasing creativity and skill.
- Eager Learner: Quickly absorbs new skills and is always keen to learn.
- Creative Problem Solver: Offers innovative ideas early in their career.
- Resilient: Uses challenges and feedback as opportunities to grow.
- Collaborative: Actively contributes to and learns from team efforts.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Relevant Bachelor Degree or Diploma in Graphic Design
- 0-3 years’ work experience - Must have proven internship as a designer at an advertising or design agency
- Retail experience advantageous.
