Reporting to the Automation Engineer.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing and implementing mechanization infrastructure to either support the business growth or bring optimization to an existing process
- Procurement of equipment to support operations and processes
- Ability to draft request for proposal (RFP) documents
- Analysing and implementing new automation within the distribution center operations, under the guidance of the Automation Applications Engineer
- Management and control of costs for specific projects
- Supplier engagement and management in accordance with contractually agreed terms
- Stakeholder engagement with Operational staff
Attributes required:

- Excellent project management skills, both planning and document control
- Working knowledge of complex automation projects
- Working knowledge, and experience with, PLC implementation and programming (Siemens preferred)
Qualifications:
- Engineering qualification - Bachelor’s Degree in Mechatronics, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in similar role
- Previous experience in design and execution of production plants, mining infrastructure or process automation equipment.
- Working knowledge of PLC control and programming is a requirement
- Previous experience in a project space in Distribution Centres, production environment or warehousing on a large scale with complex operations would be advantageous
