Position Purpose:
The stores person is responsible for controlling the flow of stock from goods in — into stores — and then into manufacturing ready to be manufactured in the workshop.
Key Responsibilities:
- Loads and unloads material and tools from deliveries/collections, ensuring relevant paperwork is checked, submitted, reconciled, and that business systems are maintained.
- Monitoring shortages and undelivered purchase orders, helping to drive to solutions to support the shop floor in manufacturing kits for projects.
- Working closely with production management and scheduling to ensure accurate and timely delivery of materials to internal departments. Delivering goods from the stores to the relevant departments/people as required.
- Pick and deliver products using a forklift.
- Ensure all stock is stored in the correct manner.
- Keep inventory management systems up to date, taking an active and engaged role in stock take and discrepancy resolution.
- Keep a record and report on any stock shortages or spare items.
- Comply with the company’s Quality, Health and Safety and Environmental policies and procedures.
- Any other duties assigned by the Manager.
Requirements:
- A good all-round general education.
- Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment is desired.
- Computer literate.
- Good communication skills (verbal and written.)
- Adherence to health and safety policies.
- Confidence to work independently or as part of a team.
- Reliable, flexible, decisive, good organizational skills, conscientious approach to work.
- Right to work in the UK.
