Position Purpose:

The stores person is responsible for controlling the flow of stock from goods in — into stores — and then into manufacturing ready to be manufactured in the workshop.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Loads and unloads material and tools from deliveries/collections, ensuring relevant paperwork is checked, submitted, reconciled, and that business systems are maintained.
  • Monitoring shortages and undelivered purchase orders, helping to drive to solutions to support the shop floor in manufacturing kits for projects.
  • Working closely with production management and scheduling to ensure accurate and timely delivery of materials to internal departments. Delivering goods from the stores to the relevant departments/people as required.
  • Pick and deliver products using a forklift.
  • Ensure all stock is stored in the correct manner.
  • Keep inventory management systems up to date, taking an active and engaged role in stock take and discrepancy resolution.
  • Keep a record and report on any stock shortages or spare items.
  • Comply with the company’s Quality, Health and Safety and Environmental policies and procedures.
  • Any other duties assigned by the Manager.

Requirements:

  • A good all-round general education.
  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment is desired.
  • Computer literate.
  • Good communication skills (verbal and written.)
  • Adherence to health and safety policies.
  • Confidence to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Reliable, flexible, decisive, good organizational skills, conscientious approach to work.
  • Right to work in the UK.
