We believe every pet is different and so we make tailor-made nutrition catering for the individual needs of each dog. We do that by asking owners a few simple questions, creating the perfect tails.com recipe and feeding plan for their dog – now delivering over 4 million custom-designed meals every month across the UK, straight to each customer’s door.

We’re looking for a Head of Physical Product to take the lead in delivering a high performing physical product and an exciting, engaging product experience, improving the lives dogs and their owners far and wide.

Requirements

Our Head of Physical Product leads a team comprising of Food Innovation and Performance, Quality, Nutrition and Physical Product Management, working closely with our investor Nestlé Purina PetCare and our external supply partners.

We’ll be looking for you to:

  • Own the Physical product, working with marketing, commercial and operational teams to manage the product lifecycle and keep our range fresh and exciting for dogs and their owners

  • Through the Food Innovation and Performance team understand the available technologies and how to turn them into innovative products, both to broaden our range and to enhance our food performance and nutritional depth

  • Lead the quality team to deliver and improve our Quality Management System across our growing internal and supplier operations

  • Manage our nutritional expert and influence nutrition activities across the business, guiding us to provide the best nutrition possible to our dogs

Other useful skills include:

  • Product lifecycle management experience

  • Hands on experience in a factory environment

  • Experience in a subscription driven, direct to customer business

  • Quality leadership

  • Commercial awareness

  • Experience in multinational operations

  • Logical thinker that can structure information to help our software team build our blend algorithm
