About the Role:

  • The Harness Inspector’s primary function is ensuring that all products leaving the production department match the specifications and completing relevant documentation.
  • Ensuring that the product meets the customer’s requirements (both internal and external) at each stage of its manufacturing process, carrying out relevant testing and where necessary taking corrective action to rectify non-conformance issues.
  • Reporting quality issues data, ensuring the Quality Management System is adhered to at all stages.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Carrying out product tests and thorough independent final inspection of finished assemblies to defined procedures, formally reporting all defects.
  • Ensuring all associated documentation is received, completed and stored in a timely and accurate manner, adhering to all BMS requirements.
  • Responsible for checking, progressing, and collating accurate build and inspection records.
  • Goods Inwards, and Production line Quality support activities.
  • Inspecting all components and all stages of the manufacturing process as required
  • Support and participate in process improvement activities.
  • Alerting the Quality Assurance department of ongoing problems and delivering resolutions.

Safety & Environmental

  • Ensures Environmental Health & Safety policy is always adhered to.
  • Promotes Environmental Health & Safety awareness.
  • Responsible for adhering to EHS procedures & policies to ensure compliance.

Required Education & Experience:

  • Demonstrable experience in end of line inspection
  • Demonstrable experience in harness manufacture
  • Familiar with Motorsport System 25 specification/standard
  • Familiar with Cirris cable and harness tester
  • Desirable – Ability to program Cirris cable and harness tester
  • Desirable - Awareness of automotive OEM manufacturing and quality processes
  • Desirable – Experience with Low Volume / Prototype build manufacturing

System or Knowledge:

  • Basic knowledge in Microsoft Office and applications (i.e. MS Outlook, MS Teams, MS Excel, MS Power Point, SharePoint Online).

Other Features of job

  • Eligible to work in the UK.
  • This role is an onsite role based at our Duncote, Towcester, Northampton location.
  • 0800 to 1700 (Mon-Thu), 0800 to 1300 (Fri), excluding 30-minute paid break 4 days a week.
  • Travel occasionally
