About the Job:

Taco Bell’s business is in the midst of a transformation to become a digital-first brand through the entire Customer Experience.  In the next 5 years, the business aims to increase sales through digital channels with a fast, seamless, and more personalized approach to the customer experience.  The primary purpose of this team is to drive towards a breakthrough transformation of Taco Bell’s Customer Experience across the entire customer journey – from engaging with the brand and ordering food, all the way through anticipating and receiving the food, and ultimately re-engaging. This role’s primary focus is to inject the digital mindset and omnichannel, end-to-end customer experience into new concepts and brand innovations in order to fuel the brand for future growth and modernization in service of our target customer, the Cultural Rebel.

The Associate Manager of Restaurant Concepts and Customer Experience is responsible for working with cross-functional teams to help initiate, plan and execute tests and program ideas for new restaurant concepts to create an easy, seamless and distinctive customer experience.  This role will sit on the Digital & Omnichannel Customer Experience (DOPE) team, reporting to the Sr. Manager of Omnichannel Customer Experience.

The Day-to-Day:

  • Receive direction and then execute on new concepts and programs that Taco Bell would like to test in our restaurants that enable digital channel growth and provide a relevant, easy and distinctive experience for when the digital and physical meet at the ‘moment of truth’ – when the customer, team member and food come together all at the same time.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and ensure that various mobile pickup scenarios and in-restaurant experiences are tested and implemented through the lens of the customer – Examples: Mobile Drive Thru Lanes, Mobile Parking and Pick Up shelves, new building types, and experiences that drive a modern customer experience
  • Take the lead (even if not the formal project lead) on moving projects and initiatives forward with passion for driving meaningful results
  • Build and execute project plans and timelines
  • Identify roadblocks and lead discussions to drive solutions and resolutions
  • Champion DOPE initiatives and suggest & develop better processes to achieve those initiatives
  • Seek to understand the why behind other’s motivations and practice driving consensus
  • Proactively keep a pulse on competitors, industry leaders, etc., Educate and inspire the cross-functional team on best practices, breakthrough ideas, etc.
  • Create space and time to ideate with others both within DOPE and outside of DOPE on how to build and distinguish the brand through the customer experience
  • Communicate often and effectively with stakeholders on progress of initiatives
  • Assist in setting KPIs and working with analytics teams to gather data and metrics to assess concepts and tests, turning insights and analytics into actionable recommendations.
  • Flex with the needs of the job and the business – possibly having to wear multiple hats to support changing business priorities

Is This You?

  • Bachelor's Degree required, Master’s Degree a plus
  • Minimum 4-5 years of relevant experience in digital marketing, customer experience and project management
  • Experience in multi-channel retail, consumer products or QSR industry
  • Working understanding of how to bring programs/concepts to life with an iterative approach and the ability to learn forward and fail fast
  • Demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams to achieve a common goal
  • Working knowledge of how to gather, synthesize and present data around established KPIs
  • Outstanding interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to partner, give and take, influence interface effectively with all levels of management
  • Demonstrated project management, organization and planning skills
  • Possess an innate curiosity and comfortable working with ambiguity
  • Adept at taking initiative and proactively asking questions to gain clarity – action oriented
  • Positive, flexible mindset with the ability to pivot and react to changing environments or program challenges
