People Operations (Human Resources) Manager

sweetgreen – Culver City

The People Operations Manager has four main responsibilities

  • Design and manage compensation and benefit programs that align with our branded lifestyle
  • Build scalable HR processes and supporting infrastructure
  • Create and maintain HR policies to support the business and meet legal requirements
  • Manage the People Operations Team to ensure flawless execution of employee relations, compensation, benefits, compliance, and people reporting

Expected Deliverables

Design and manage compensation and benefit programs that align with our branded lifestyle

  • Partner with Strategy and Finance teams to review current wage strategy and make a recommendation for 2018 based on competitive market, changing legislative landscape, and best practices
  • Oversee the design of sweetgreens benefit offerings to support our employees living the sweetlife
  • Review retirement plan benefit options and implement the right plan for sweetgreen

Build scalable HR processes and supporting infrastructure

  • Create relationship with Stratex, our HRIS vendor, and ensure that this new system is implemented to its full potential
  • Collaborate with Operations to identify opportunities to streamline and automate workflows to make HR processes easier for our stores

Create and maintain HR policies to support the business and meet legal requirements

  • Maintain HR policy handbook that provides clarity in an on-brand voice
  • Document current practices and create training programs to ensure all managers understand our expectations
  • Partner with our employment attorney to review current practices against our new market pipeline

Manager People Operations Team to ensure flawless execution of benefits, and people reporting

  • Provide accurate and timely information in ad hoc reporting
  • Lead new hire onboarding and termination processes that ensures an on-brand experience
  • Maintain employee files and record-keeping, auditing regularly for flawless execution

Desired Experience

  • 3-5 years experience working with HR processes and policies for a multi-state employer, ideally with a large hourly population
  • 3-5 years experience managing large scale, cross-functional projects
  • 3-5 years experience designing compensation plans
  • 2-3 years experience building partnerships and negotiating contracts with vendors
  • 1-2 years experience designing and managing ACA compliant benefit programs
