Role

The role of the Learning Experience Designer is to support the Learning and Development Team in design and development of all learning programs and materials. The Learning Experience Designer will support the stores and Treehouse in preparing employees to perform in a way that impacts the customer experience and leads the company to achieving yearly key imperatives. The positions core responsibility is to design and develop learning experiences that make the acquisition of knowledge and skill more efficient, effective and appealing. Also ensuring that internal and external brand is promoted through exceptional customer service and high degree of professionalism. In addition, this position is responsible for modeling, supporting and adhering to the Sweetgreen Food Ethos and Values.

Responsibilities 

  • Acts as consultant to recommend the most appropriate learning solutions (approaches and technologies) based on best practices and the needs of the business – short and long term.
  • Contributes to the department’s strategic planning.
  • Assists team with content design, creation and review.
  • Coordinates across departments to achieve department objectives.
  • Promotes L&D brand through exceptional customer service and high degree of professionalism.

  • Designs learning experiences that are appropriate for the business need at hand

  • Maximize creative leverage of a wide range of multimedia and delivery methods to enhance learning.
  • Regular needs assessments and partnership with Stakeholders and Subject Matter Experts to meet the needs of the target learning audience.
  • Evaluates content and overall program effectiveness through field-tests, user-experience surveys, and other forms of formative and summative assessment
  • Engages in continuous learning regarding learning, best practices of design, and the state of current and emerging learning technologies.

  • Collaborates with Subject Matter Experts and Content Developer to gather content and information.
  • Executes designed solutions through multiple learning methodologies. Best possible solution to meet the desired objective.
  • Creates multimedia assets as appropriate
    • Video/audio recording
    • Video/audio production and editing
    • Interactivity programming
    • Graphics production
    • Animations
  • Maintains department material, updates as needed, and ensures files are current.
  • Assists with proofreading and editing of all department materials.

  • Understands, exemplifies and nurtures the Sweetgreen Culture, Food Ethos and Values.
  • Acts as a resource for technical and artistic needs across departments to support Sweetgreen Culture and People imperatives.
  • Enforces policy of accountability towards those that do not adhere to the company values

  • Occasional travel, weekends and irregular hours required.
