sweetgreen is looking for an experienced Facilities Manager to oversee the Facilities support function within a specific region. This individual develops the Facilities staff and ensures that our restaurants are receiving preventative maintenance, repair services, and remodeling assistance in a timely, cost- effective and efficient manner.  Forecasts and manages Facilities maintenance budgets and oversees quality control within the region.  Works closely with Operations Leadership to communicate and enhance the support provided by the Facilities maintenance function. This position can be based on the East Coast and reports to the Director of Construction.

We are looking for a team player that understands how to work closely with Operations Leadership to communicate and enhance the support provided by the facilities maintenance function.

The Facilities Manager has the following main responsibilities: 

  • Oversee Facilities management guidelines and procedures, including:
  • Repairs & maintenance contracts and agreements based on market needs
  • Capital re-investment projects from implementation through completion
  • Fixtures, furnishing and equipment purchasing
  • Managing Facilities Supporting staff
  • Projecting and managing Facilities budgets utilizing site surveys and visits, and working with all Operations leadership
  • Providing project status updates weekly to keep current projects on track
  • Developing and implementing restaurant remodel and other projects involving Facilities, closely following the new store construction process including ICP’s and KO meetings
  • Performing annual quality control visits with primary vendors in the market to ensure they are effectively servicing the needs of our restaurants; includes rate negotiation, preventative maintenance contracts, and scope of work reinforcement
  • Participating in monthly conference calls with Operations/Store Dev Leadership to discuss issues, concerns, or other pertinent project considerations

  • 5-10 years of experience in Facilities maintenance or related field
  • A./B.S. in relevant field or an equivalent in education and experience
  • Certification in facilities management through International Facilities Management Association or other organization preferred


  • Working knowledge of and the ability to use a PC as well as Microsoft Office Suite
  • Working knowledge of and the ability to use facilities management software preferred
  • Working knowledge of service and maintenance costs
  • Knowledge of rules and regulations governing facilities safety requirements
  • Knowledge of FFE purchasing on a national level
  • Aptitude for prioritizing multiple projects
