We are looking for a Recruiting Specialist to oversee all hiring in our Boston market. You will build strong partnerships with leadership in market to identify and fill hiring needs for both Management (Head Coaches + Store Leads) and hourly Team Member roles. You will assist and coach our Area Leaders and Restaurant Managers in conducting professional and organized interview processes that reflect our core values.

The Recruiting Specialist has 4 main responsibilities

  • Understand, prioritize and strategize the hiring needs for the market
  • Source and attract high quality candidates that fit the talent profile
  • Plan, organize and facilitate hiring fairs and events
  • Utilize the talent profile to hire team members and simplify the onboarding communication

Some Expected 2018 Deliverables

  • Understand, prioritize and strategize hiring needs for the market
    • Attend weekly Head Coach Huddles to understand the hiring needs of each store
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with Area Leaders and Head Coaches to understand their unique needs for their market and stores
    • Plan a consistent hiring schedule that matches the market’s needs and allows for strategic onboarding and training at the store level
    • Gain a deep understanding of each store’s culture and be able to guide hiring decisions to maintain and deepen positive cultures
  • Source and attract high quality candidates that fit the talent profile
    • Find, connect and build relationships with community workforce partners that can support the candidate pipeline in terms of quantity and quality
    • Plan recurring recruiting events with strong partners that can be executed by the People Team or Head Coaches
    • Understand the local talent pool to attract top talent for Leadership and Team Member roles
    • Advocate for sweetgreen through strategic employment branding, both digitally and physically, in the local talent community
  • Plan, organize and facilitate sweetgreen hiring events and interviews
    • Maintain frequent + organized communication with applicants by responding to all applications
    • Screen and invite qualified applicants to attend weekly interviews
    • Utilize our ATS system for communication, scheduling and reporting purposes
  • Utilize the talent profile to hire team members and simplify the onboarding communication
    • Conduct engaging, culture focused and behavioral based interviews that allow all applicants to understand our core values
    • Hold all Area Leaders, Head Coaches and yourself accountable to the traits described in the talent profile when making hiring decisions
    • Ensure quick and organized communication regarding the results of interviews to candidates, Head Coaches, Area Leaders and recruiting team
    • Compile and communicate the start date and availability of the new team members along with their contact information to the Head Coaches and Payroll team

 

Desired Experience + Traits

  • 3+ years experience with full cycle recruiting
  • Familiarity with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and HRIS systems
  • Detail-Oriented: you must be able to ensure every step in the recruitment process is done consistently, including updating reports and managing the ATS, while juggling multiple positions.
  • Flexible Communication Style: ability to communicate clearly and effectively with all different types and levels of Hiring Managers
  • Warm and Outgoing Personality: you will often be a candidate’s first impression of sweetgreen! You must be welcoming and excited when attracting talent about our  opportunities
  • Problem-Solving Orientation: you will need to be able to identify the root-cause of issues in order to identify the right solutions.
  • Results driven – motivated by a challenge
  • Prior experience recruiting for a start-up or rapidly-growing organization a plus
  • Restaurant, hospitality, or retail company experience is a plus
