Sweet is searching for a talented Tech Artist to join our team and help us produce 3D models of our NFTs. You will be a member of the design team and work closely with the 3D modeling team. You will have the opportunity to work with major brands ranging from Kia to the NBA’s Cleveland Cavaliers and incorporate your expertise and creativity into our animations. 

This position is fully remote and open to individuals living anywhere, so long as you can be available to work during US east coast hours.

Responsibilities:

  • Rigging for various assets including organic/characters, hard-surface assets, props, and environments
  • Develop tools for animation and rigging
  • Work with Head of Design and Lead 3D Artist to help direct the team’s strategy for technical art and animation
  • This role will also involve some animation responsibilities and will not strictly be limited to rigging and tech art

Required Qualifications:

  • Expert rigging knowledge & experience
  • Extensive knowledge of one or more scripting languages (Python, MEL, C#, etc)
  • Extensive knowledge of Maya or equivalent animation software
  • Extensive knowledge of animation and character pipelines/systems
  • Experience with game engines/real-time rendering environments
  • Applicants must provide their demo reel/portfolio in the form of a website link or file upload. Applicants who do not provide these materials will not be considered for the position

Preferred Experience:

  • Some animation experience, including in-depth understanding of the fundamental 12 principles of animation
  • Experience with facial rigging/animation
  • Experience with both bipedal and quadrupedal rigging/animation
  • Experience retargeting animations to rigs

A big plus if you have:

  • Experience with Three.js/JavaScript
  • Experience with real-time rendering for mobile
  • Experience with both real-time and pre-rendered animation environments
  • Experience with nCloth
  • Experience with xGen
