About the role:

We sit on top of a mountain of data here at SurveyMonkey - behavioral, experimentation, transactional, user level, etc. and our International Team needs a versatile, experienced analyst based in the Dublin office to cull through and help extract meaningful, actionable insights.  

The International Data Analyst will help point the team towards areas of opportunity and, as a result, directly influence the new products we build for our International users or new market investments.  

You will be to apply your expertise in quantitative analysis, data visualization and data-mining to tell the story behind numbers and derive actionable insights for the SurveyMonkey’s International team to define the growth strategy across international markets including product positioning & vision, pricing & packaging for localised audiences and marketing investments across key acquisition channel.

The skills required to support our International growth effort are specialised, so prior experience in a customer insight role is highly desirable. This means you have that unique blend of business acumen and technical expertise:

  • You think from both the user’s and business’ point of view.
  • You are curious and ask lots of questions; you are eager to understand user behaviors and think about long-term trends.
  • You examine the metrics that drive the business and you propose ways to improve them.
  • You build hypotheses then use tools (SQL/Hive, R/Python, GA/Omniture, experimentation) to evaluate them.
  • You can communicate the results of complex analyses in a clear, concise manner.

This is a highly impactful, visible, and results-oriented team, so comfort working with executive leadership is important. You must be able to work across many areas of our product with rigor and quality. Prior experience with SEO, SEM, Email and other channels is beneficial since we partner closely with our performance and brand marketing teams.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in quantitative analysis.
  • Exceptional problem solving skills: demonstrated ability to understand business, challenges, structure complex problems and deliver solutions.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic work environment and be a self-starter.
  • Highly proficient in accessing data warehouses (SQL, Hive, proprietary equivalents).
  • Familiarity with R or Python.
  • Understanding of statistics (e.g., hypothesis testing, regressions).
  • Experience using common visualization tools (Tableau, Salesforce Wave would be a plus).
  • Degree in quantitative or computational field.
  • Web analytics experience in tools like Google Analytics preferred.
