About You

Surefire Cyber is seeking a Principal Engineer with expertise in data and intelligence product engineering. Your strengths should lie in synthesizing data into actionable insights, combined with experience in incident response, SOC operations, threat hunting, and security engineering. You excel at refining internal tools, optimizing business operations, rapidly developing, and deploying solutions, and designing analytics and dashboards that transform complex datasets into clear insights for client portals.

With a proven track record in leading product engineering, especially in developing data and intelligence products, you collaborate effectively with engineering, technology, and product teams. You have a strong ability to turn complex data into actionable insights, driven by innovation and a desire to make a significant impact.

Job Description

As a Principal Engineer, you will lead the development of our data and intelligence products, closely aligning with the strategic vision of Surefire Cyber. You will initiate and develop client-facing SaaS applications that bring these products to market and oversee their integration with third-party solutions to enhance functionality and user experience. Additionally, you will be responsible for the creation and refinement of internal tools that support business operations and demonstrate a capability for rapid development and deployment. 

The ideal candidate should have experience in developing SaaS data-driven products with a strong background in software development, data processing, and analytics. In addition, you can manage and report on the software lifecycle from design to deployment. 

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with engineering, technology, and product teams to align on the strategic vision of the data and intelligence products to be built. 
  • Collaborate with engineering team members and other internal stakeholders to shape and influence how the product is built and delivered to clients, partners, and colleagues. 
  • Drive the launch of new SaaS products, from initial concept through to market delivery, focusing on superior user experience and client satisfaction.
  • Design and implement analytical tools and dashboards for client portals, by using visual analytics tools such as tableau or similar.
  • Synthesize data from multiple sources and transform complex datasets into accessible and informative. 
  • Implement continuous integration and delivery with our external and internal platforms.
  • Lead and assist on a variety of initiatives related to integrations and custom data and intelligence builds built on top of our external response platform to streamline business operations and improve team efficiency across Surefire Cyber as needed.
  • Innovate and refine internal operational tools, promoting efficiency and scalability.
  • Design and implement tools, scalable services, and APIs for Surefire Cyber’s internal and external platform as well as integrations with strategic technology partners
  • Develop integrations with 3rd party products and solutions that support Surefire Cyber’s delivery capability.  
  • Engage and lead design requirement sessions, challenge existing solutions, and inspire ideas for future enhancements across Surefire Cyber’s data and intelligence products and tech stack. 
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to enhance existing capabilities and build new product solutionsas Surefire Cyber scales. 
  • Stay abreast of the latest technology trends, security standards and frameworks within the IR (Incident Response) and InsureTech space to constantly grow your skill set. 

Responsibilities breakdown by area of focus: 

  • Development of data and intelligence products (60%).
  • Create and build external client-facing SaaS applications to bring Data and Intelligence products to market (20%).
  • Platform Integration and interoperability with internal and third-party hosted platforms (10%).
  • Internal tools development and business enablement development, e.g., rapid build for internal tools or integrations (5%).
  • Create dashboards and Analytics for customer portal for data and intelligence products (5%).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Cybersecurity, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience as a Back-End Engineer or Full Stack Engineer, focusing on cybersecurity and product development.
  • Proficiency in programming languages like JavaScript, Python, Go, and C#.
  • Strong skills in backend systems and databases like SQL and MySQL.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau.
  • In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity technologies and best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and passion for innovation.
  • A growth mindset with a willingness to share knowledge and work as a part of a collaborative team.
