Position Summary:

Women are on the cusp of becoming the most powerful force in America. But to fundamentally transform this country, we need to pull together the millions of women who are already engaged and amplify and expand their civic participation. Supermajority Education Fund is a new effort to build women’s power across the country by training and mobilizing a multiracial, intergenerational community who will lead the fight for gender equity. We will provide women with the tools, resources, and knowledge they need to channel the energy and activism of this moment and build it into a long-term movement for change.

Since our founding in April 2019, Supermajority Education Fund and our related 501(c)(4) organization, Supermajority, have reached more than a million women through in-person conversations and online outreach. In August 2019, over 75,000 people from all 50 states completed our Women’s* Poll, which led to the creation of the Majority Rules, a set of values to help us build the country we deserve. In September and October 2019, the Supermajority Education Fund Bus Tour met up with thousands of women across fourteen states, and included conversations between our members and five presidential candidates. In December 2019 we launched Supermajority News, a new editorial platform reporting on the intersection of gender, politics, and activism, and welcomed Pantsuit Nation, an online community of more than 3 million women and allies, into our organization. In 2020, we are poised to run the country’s largest woman-to-woman voter engagement program by offering strategic digital tools, training, and information to women and allies around the country.

SMEF is seeking experienced Regional Organizing Directors to join a team of committed organizers and leaders. Reporting to the Deputy National Organizing Director, the Regional Organizing Directors will be primarily responsible for implementing the organizing program in states across the country. Regional Organizing Directors will ensure that we are building a diverse coalition of volunteers and volunteer leaders who feel empowered to make change in their communities to advance gender equity.

Supermajority Education Fund is seeking Regional Organizing Directors who are skilled in relationship-building, interpersonal communication and leadership development; and have a proven track record of building diverse volunteer teams. All duties can be done virtually during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Essential Responsibilities and Activities:

  • Recruit, build, and oversee volunteer leaders, member acquisition, grassroots groups engagement, volunteer onboarding and training and teams in your assigned states.
  • Set and meet goals related to volunteer recruitment, voter registration, voter protection, and GOTV in priority states.
  • Develop and manage a system to track volunteer outreach and engagement efforts.
  • Identify and develop volunteer leaders to manage the logistics related to direct voter contact including volunteer events, digital direct voter contact events like text and phone banks, and other key components of the national organizing program.
  • Assess the landscape in your region and develop outreach plans that will leverage volunteer networks and community influencers on the ground to engage new supporters. Build and maintain relationships with local and state-based community organizations in your assigned states.
  • Facilitate the direct training and professional development of volunteers and volunteer leads.
  • Report, track, and record real time data; where appropriate ensure that volunteer leaders are doing the same. Track progress on goals to increase the size and engagement of Supermajority’s network. Establish accountability systems to ensure that goals are met, while assessing any gaps in effective outreach and engagement.

The successful candidates must have the following skills and qualities:

  • Working for racial equity: Consistently integrate a deep understanding of key racial equity concepts into work projects and interactions by addressing structural implications and disproportionate impacts of policies, activities, and decisions on race, class and other group identities within the context of job responsibilities and projects. You have a commitment to the values of SMEF, most critically working with a workforce of all backgrounds, races, and ages, with sensitivity and appreciation for cultural differences.
  • Strong community organizer: Strong ability to build relationships with, coach, mentor, and motivate people. You are goal-oriented, self-disciplined, able to meet tight deadlines and multitask, and have experience organizing community leaders and designing programs that empower and support volunteer leaders.
  • Quick learner: Comfortable learning new technology for organizing and voter engagement that is critical to program implementation, training and tracking.
  • Flexibility and Adaptability: Comfortable working in fast-paced, changing environments with ability to maintain long, and sometimes irregular hours, plus occasional travel.
  • Strong virtual communication and collaboration: ​Efficiency and comfort with Slack and Google Suite, responsiveness via email, and willingness to participate in weekly group calls or as needed.


The annual salary for this role is $75,000.
