We're looking for someone who:
- Fully ACCA qualified or in the final stages/Chartered Accountant (ACCA or equivalent)
with experience in applying IFRS and local standards in a complex and regulated
environment; - 3-5 years of experience in a relevant senior accounting role; (understanding of online
gambling business will be an advantage) - Team management experience;
- Proficiency in English and Maltese language;
- Working knowledge of Accounting systems; (Dynamics 365 knowledge will be an
advantage); - MS Office excellent (Advanced in Excel)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
- A structural and logical approach to solving problems
What you'll be doing?
- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including:
- month and end-year process
- accounts payable/receivable
- cash receipts
- general ledger
- payroll and utilities
- revenue and expenditure variance analysis
- capital assets reconciliations
- trust account statement reconciliations,
- check runs
- fixed asset activity
- debt activity
- intercompany transactions and reconciliation - Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements
aligned with IFRS and local standards - Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles
- Ensure compliance with group and local standards and oversee audits
- Provide recommendations
- Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions
- Provide direction and guidance to the accounting team to ensure compliance and
accuracy of financial data - Meet financial accounting objectives
- Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions
