POSITION OVERVIEW:

SunWorks is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our Denver, CO branch as a Construction Manager. In this position, you will play a pivotal role in building and maintaining strong relationships with our clients while managing daily service operations. This position requires a combination of team leadership skills, project management expertise, and a deep understanding of the landscaping industry.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage project managers and all aspects of the construction division to ensure efficient production and strong profit margins.
  • Attendance of client preconstruction meetings, with President, where proposal as well as contract scope of work are reviewed until project is turned over to LMI’s Production team. 
  • Review jobs prior to kick off with PMs and foremen to address concerns prior to job start of job. 
  • Review project contract scopes of work for accuracy or each item and inclusions and exclusions. 
  • Intercept construction scheduling emails & phone calls from GCs; coordinate with Project Managers; report back to GC & GM regarding schedules and progress for billing & forecasts; coordinate with purchasing accordingly. 
  • Coordinate and participate in preconstruction site walks and meetings to ensure everyone is clear regarding LMI’s scope of work. 
  • Manage and post construction schedules; review/confirm/submit purchasing requests in accordance with schedules. 
  • Project budget management, analysis versus estimate, and tracking; coordinate with purchasing on areas for adjustment. 
  • Coordinate and participate in substantial completion/warranty site walks with customer upon completion of project assisting PM’s in getting project turned over as quickly as possible. 
  • Mitigate warranty issues by walking sites monthly with both AM & PM to identify potential issues; reduce window before landscape is complete and warranty start date. 
  • Assist in facilitating turnover from Construction to Maintenance; provide plans and walk with GM, Construction & Maintenance prior to turnover; coordinate between departments to ensure collaboration. 
  • Manage FW information, plan printing, and instruction dissemination; provide translated instructions and/or photographs for clarity. 
  • Support PMs with monthly crew training sessions on a greater variety of topics; coordinate training on special/infrequent installations (pavers, green roof, site furnishings). 
  • Generate and track construction change orders and T&M billing. 
  • Engage and communicate with subcontractors, existing and new allowing for LMI scope growth and coverage. 
  • Document, organize, manage, and archive construction documents, photographs, observation logs, and other information.

 

COMPENSATION:  The base salary for this position ranges from 90-110k based on qualifications. A performance based bonus will also be offered. Benefits include employer sponsored retirement plan, health care, dental, vision, and PTO.
