Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Landscape Construction Estimator to join our team. The Landscape Construction Estimator will play a crucial role in assessing project requirements, analyzing costs, and providing accurate estimates for landscape construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of construction processes, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities:
- Review project plans, specifications, and relevant documents to understand the scope and requirements of landscape construction projects.
- Conduct on-site evaluations to assess site conditions, logistics, and potential challenges.
- Analyze costs associated with labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.
- Utilize historical data, industry benchmarks, and market trends to inform accurate cost estimates.
- Perform quantity takeoffs from construction drawings to determine the quantities of materials and labor required for each project component.
- Solicit and evaluate quotes from vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Negotiate pricing and contract terms to secure the best value for materials and services.
- Develop comprehensive project budgets based on the cost analysis and quantity takeoff.
- Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to align budgets with project goals.
- Establish cost-tracking systems to monitor expenses throughout the construction process.
- Generate regular reports on project cost performance and communicate findings to relevant stakeholders.
- Prepare detailed and competitive bids for landscape construction projects.
- Collaborate with project teams to identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising project quality.
- Provide value engineering suggestions to optimize project budgets.
- Identify potential risks and uncertainties that may impact project costs.
- Ensure compliance with company and industry documentation standards.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Construction Estimator, preferably in the landscaping or construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and industry standards.
- Proficiency in cost estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
- Effective communication and negotiation abilities.
- Detail-oriented and able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
