The Director of Marketing will lead Sunlight Financial's diverse marketing initiatives companywide. This role will help to define our marketing execution for B2B channel partner acquisition, the B2C homeowner-facing brand experience, and investor-facing materials. As Sunlight Financial's first dedicated Marketing hire, you will play an instrumental role in elevating our external brand presence while developing targeted B2B marketing campaigns to prospective channel partners.

 

Duties:

Own the evolution of our brand and value proposition
Define our online marketing strategy for B2B sales and own the execution of that strategy
Lead social media efforts across the company
Work with the Executive leadership team – Sales, Software, Client Support, etc. – to produce and deliver all client communications
Coordinate cross-functionally to support creation of Board materials
Develop and execute a strategy for industry conferences, including on-site presence at major events
Eventually will lead a team including providing ongoing leadership, coaching and development; setting the appropriate expectations and goals; ensuring a high quality of work is produced and timelines are met (or exceeded)
This is a “player/coach” role … The Director of Marketing will “do” work in addition to leading the efforts of the team

Required Skills/Qualifications

7-10 years of related work experience
Prior experience in financial services or at a FinTech company a plus
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, English, Creative Writing or equivalent strongly preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills
Extensive experience building and measuring online campaigns
Demonstrated track record creating and executing online and offline marketing campaigns
Prior experience working in a B2B marketing environment, with channel marketing a plus
Expert level proficiency within the core tools of the Adobe Creative Suite a plus
Significant hands-on marketing experience
Ability to understand data to track sales trends to build better communications
Strong process orientation with the ability to create a repetitive execution process
Professional and organized with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment; strong task prioritization skills
Excellent strategic and critical thinking skills, as well as a creative mind set
Positive attitude, commitment to excellence and integrity
Ability to deliver high quality results with speed and efficiency
Capable of working both independently and in team situations
Flexible and able to adapt and respond to the needs of a rapidly growing organization
