The position

As a founding member of the payments team you will be tasked with defining & driving success for Sunday’s approval rate when processing transactions. Our innovative business model comes with the challenge of ensuring there is parity for our restaurants when processing Card Not Present (CNP) transactions to the more traditional Card Present (CP) processing route. You will be working cross functionally with local Operations Managers, Product Managers & external suppliers & issuers to incrementally improve our overall performance.

Job tasks:

  • Define and monitor key metrics, understanding the root causes payment failure.
  • Anticipate potential challenges as Sunday launches into new markets with additional alternative payment methods integrated.
  • Develop an intricate knowledge of Sunday’s customers and merchants to refine the User Experience with the product team to improve performance.
  • Own relationships with external vendors, including PSP’s, Acquirers & Issuers to deliver against the team objectives.
  • Work closely with the commercial team to provide consistent and transparent feedback to our merchants to enable a cross-party effort to reduce payment failure.

Who we look for:

  • 1+ years of experience working in Fintech/Payments with an understanding of the key players involved in processing a transaction (Gateway, Acquirer, Network, Issuer) - Alternatively, you have experience in supporting payments topics as an external consultant.
  • Has a strong passion for driving and owning projects from ideation/creation through to execution and continual management.
  • Creative mindset who can support the implementation of new business models and think outside the box
  • Strong communicator and can manage varying internal and external stakeholders to drive results
  • Native English speaker with additional languages a plus
