Senior Software Engineer - Integration, Cloud SOAR
Sumo Logic's Cloud SOAR (Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response) platform enhances security operations by automating and orchestrating workflows across diverse security tools and systems. Our platform's success lies in its ability to seamlessly integrate with hundreds of external systems. The Cloud SOAR Integration Team is looking for a seasoned Senior Software Engineer to expand our integration portfolio and enhance existing integrations. This role is pivotal in ensuring our platform continues to deliver robust protection against an evolving threat landscape while optimizing resource utilization and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, implement, and maintain integrations between Sumo Logic Cloud SOAR and various external systems.
- Build and iterate on integration frameworks, leading a small team to develop high-efficiency integrations.
- Ensure seamless data flow and process automation, contributing to the efficiency and effectiveness of our Cloud SOAR solution.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand integration requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Guide team members towards efficient and optimal choices, ensuring high-quality integrations.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation related to integrations, including design specifications, test plans, and deployment procedures.
- Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
- Perform system testing and validation to ensure integrations are functioning as expected.
- Stay current with integration best practices to ensure optimal integration performance.
- Ensure all integrations comply with security policies and government regulations.
- Work across teams at Sumo Logic to identify requirements and architect solutions to meet their Cloud SOAR integration needs.
Who You Are
- A strong software developer with a knack for producing clean, elegant, maintainable, robust, well-tested code.
- A team player who can guide team members towards efficient and optimal choices.
- Experienced in building integrations with other external systems—both security and observability.
- Proficient in Python or another programming language, with the ability to learn Python.
- Skilled in bash scripting.
- Experienced in API integrations.
- Competent with modern CI/CD tooling like Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, and Jenkins.
- Familiar with one of the major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Able to guide junior engineers and mentor team members.
- Committed to seeing features through from development to deployment in production environments.
- An advocate for small and frequent product releases and deployments.
- Experienced in an on-call rotation, understanding that you and your team are responsible for the products you build and deploy.
Requirements
- E./B.Tech or higher in Computer Science or a related discipline.
- 4+ years of industry experience with a proven track record of ownership and delivery.
- Strong development experience in Python or similar programming language.
- Experience with Bash scripting; PowerShell experience is a plus.
- Technically lead junior developers to produce high quality integrations.
- Proven experience with APIs, REST/SOAP web services, and other integration tools.
- Experience with one of the major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Knowledge of authentication and security protocols such as OAuth, SAML, and JWT.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
