The Substitute Teacher's responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following actions:
- �Provide an overall student experience of extremely high quality
- Act as teacher of record for a number of different courses
- Facilitate learning experiences ,using a variety of methods including : direct
- instruction, project-based learning, small group tasks, individual student projects, individual and group writing tasks, formative and summative assessment, direct teacher feedback, extended individual students tasks and public performance/presentation
- Tutor individual students where necessary
- Design and implement social & emotional learning experiences as a recurring part of all courses
- Provide updates on student achievement to faculty and - if necessary - families
- Maintain and reinforce Summit's graduated discipline process
- Suggest solutions and proposals for further cover on a weekly basis, as an integral part of weekly team meeting participation
- Commitment to uphold Summit's values and belief that all children deserve a rigorous, college-preparatory education
- At least a Bachelor's Degree (a Master's Degree in Education is preferred but not required)
- Teaching experience preferred but not required

- Facilitates high quality project, problem and/or inquiry-based instruction to ensure student success
- Willing and able to travel to multiple Summit sites
- Personable and communicative; intuitive and takes initiative; able to learn quickly
- Technologically savvy and able to coach and support a tech heavy educational environment
- Maintains high expectations for all students and believes all students can be successful in college
- Facilitate learning experiences, using a variety of methods including: direct instruction, project-based learning, small group tasks, individual student projects, individual and group writing tasks, formative and summative assessment, direct teacher feedback, extended individual students tasks and public performance/presentation
- Serve as a mentor to a group of students including weekly meetings with mentees in group and one-on-one settings
- Collaborates with colleagues to maintain academic integrity of planned lessons and learning experiences for students
- Design and implement social and emotional learning experiences as a recurring part of all courses
- Actively participate and suggest proposals as a member of weekly faculty team meetings
