Human Resources Coordinator



Summit Public Schools is seeking a Human Resources Coordinator who will play an integral role in achieving the vision and mission of Summit Public Schools through excellent human resources customer service and employee support. 

This person will perform a wide variety of professional level human resources functions to support the effective and efficient operations of the human resources function. Specifically, this person aids with and facilitates the human resource processes and provides administrative support to the human resource function as needed, including but not limited to record-keeping, file maintenance and HR data entry.

This person will have a strong customer service orientation and knows that no detail is too small when it comes to human resources and ensures all employee information is accurate. 

The Human Resources Coordinator will be a member of our home office Talent team and report directly to Director of Human Resources.

What You'll Do:

HR Data and Reporting

  • Support management of human resource data and reporting; this includes
    • Ensuring HR data remain updated and accurate in our information systems
    • Preparing HR information and reports for internal and external stakeholders
    • Collaborating with network and school leaders to ensure HR compliance and completion of local and state audits
  • Assist with human resources data and information systems and process improvement
  • Support with the creation and maintenance of human resources standard operating procedures for HR reporting

Employee Records

  • Prepares new employee files
  • Maintain and updates employee files to keep them complete and up to date
  • Performs periodic audits of employees files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
  • Continuously improves employee records systems and processes to be more effective and efficient
  • Maintains confidentiality of human resource files and records.

Customer Service

  • Answers requests and questions from employees relative to human resources work
  • Helps to manage human resources help desk and find ways to make customer service more effective and efficient 
  • Creates self-directed resources to help employees answer frequently asked questions

Special Projects

  • Supports on administrative work across the Talent team including Recruitment and Selection and Talent Operations
  • Helps with planning and execution new hire orientation and other Talent events
  • Completes other related duties and projects as assigned

What you need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field desired;
  • 1 - 2 years of previous experience in HR, preferably as a generalist;
  • Superb computer skills, including Google Docs, Google Sheets and Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint); most importantly, an intermediate or advanced knowledge of Excel;
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism and confidentiality;
  • SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP or PHR/SPHR certification preferred;
  • Alternative Certificate/Diploma in Human Resources Management will be considered
  • Clear TB test and background check
