The Summit Learning Mentor Manager is responsible for the adoption and continuous quality implementation of the Summit Learning Program. Each Mentor Manager will be responsible for a portfolio of schools located in several regions of the country. This role balances the daily execution of the program vision alongside the immediate goals of teachers and school leaders using Summit Learning. The Mentor Manager will report directly to a Mentor Team Leader (Senior Director) on the Summit Learning Program.

What You’ll Do:

Summit Learning Mentor - Manager - Primary responsibilities include:

(1) School Portfolio Management & Intervention Planning

  • Manage and lead a portfolio of schools (~20-25) through the adoption and continued implementation phases of Summit Learning.
    • This includes partnership and leadership on: change management (school culture change, shifting teaching practices, parent and student engagement); instructional leadership; data analysis; & building a self-directed learning classroom/ school environment.
  • Conduct virtual and phone group coaching to Summit Learning school teachers/ leaders; empower teachers/ leader to set motivating short and long-term goals based on quality implementation and outcomes of Summit Learning.
  • Comfortably and appropriately adapts communication style for different people and specific situations; anticipates and observes for spoken and unspoken sentiments and responds appropriately.
  • Masterfully navigates different perspectives to reach common ground and build relationships.
  • Address implementation issues related to operations (e.g., scheduling), stakeholder engagement, instructional vision, and platform usage, and create intervention plans to address these challenges.
  • Continuously monitor and surface any key vulnerabilities that jeopardize the successful adoption/ implementation of Summit Learning with your Mentor Team Leader.

(2) School Visits; Convening Facilitation

  • Travel to conduct classroom observations and debriefs as needed for the execution of intervention strategies.
  • Act as Summit Learning spokespeople to schools, districts, funders, thought leaders.
  • Facilitate Summer Training, Train the Trainer, Regional Convenings; travel to and lead quarterly two-day regional conferences for Summit Basecamp school leaders and teachers across the country
  • Consistently facilitates learning experiences in a way that inspires teachers and leaders to meet rigorous program goals.
  • Skillfully adapts facilitator role using a variety of facilitation strategies, in response to teacher and leader interactions.

(3) Program Development & Team Collaboration

  • Collectively codify lessons learned and school’s process for change to allow us to better scale our program support to a larger number of schools future cohorts.
  • Partner with Mentor Team Leaders (and district leaders) to clear barriers for schools, build capacity and determine pathways to scale personalized learning within each network; work closely with “regional partners” (districts, city-based organizations, etc.) in several of our 14 regional cities to foster a community of practice through sharing best practices, lessons learned, data analysis, strategic leadership decision making and shared professional development.
  • Approaches the work with a mindset of continual improvement; engages colleagues and key stakeholders to take collective action toward a common goal.
  • Identifies and breaks down barriers to collaboration; shares decision-making authority and accountability; consistently and publicly acknowledges individual contributions.
  • Work with the CZI Platform team to refine and collect feedback and usage of the Summit Learning Platform tool to help us strengthen the Platform experience.
  • Collaborate across Summit teams to ensure that our messaging to schools is consistent with latest updates, iterations and roadmaps of the Go To Market, C&A, Training, R&D and EE teams.

What You Need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (a Master’s Degree or above is preferred).
  • 4-5+ years prior work experience is required.
  • Prior experience with school technology is required.
  • An ability to travel for 40% of work time is required.  
  • Proficiency in Google Platforms, including Google Drive, Google Sheets, Google Docs, and Google Slides.
