What you’ll do
Come join our world class team of Associates. We aim to keep our teams small and agile, ensuring that all team members are able to play an integral role in the team’s success. Specific responsibilities include:
- Leading Summit Partners' effort to identify attractive industry sectors and category-defining companies for investment
- Attending trade shows and conferences and reviewing industry publications to contribute to Summit Partners' proprietary database of private companies
- Speaking with over 1,000 entrepreneurs each year to source new portfolio companies
- Conducting due diligence and quantitative analysis to execute investments
- Helping manage portfolio company relationships (secondary)
What you’re like
We hire Associates with 2-4 years of professional experience (typically with investment banking or consulting backgrounds, although we are open to other types of professional experience). Successful candidates will have a proven track record of leadership skills, a strong interest in investing, outstanding academic (typically a GPA of 3.6+), and/or professional achievements and extra-curricular and/or community engagement.
The Associate role requires highly motivated and self-driven individuals who exhibit high attention to detail. They should have strong analytical and communication skills and must be able to think quickly and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. About the team
Melanie Whelan, Managing Director – Melanie leads Summit’s Growth Products & Services team within our Venture Capital fund. Prior to Summit, Melanie was the CEO and COO at SoulCycle from 2012-2019 where she grew SoulCycle from 8 NYC-based studios to nearly 100 studios across 18 markets and 3 countries.
Julianne Hummelberg, Vice President – Julianne joined Summit in 2022 and has been in private equity for nearly 5 years where she supported 7 CPG companies at the board level ranging from $10M to $60M+ in revenue. Prior to investing, Julianne spent 6 years operating across various financial services companies.
Nour Zaki, Associate – Nour joined Summit in 2021 after working in the investment banking division at Goldman Sachs on the consumer/retail M&A team. At Summit, she focuses on sourcing and deal execution within consumer and tech-enabled services, and sourced our investment in Hairstory. Nour holds a BA/MS from Stanford.
