Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and optimize oil and gas production processes to enhance efficiency and maximize production rates while ensuring operational safety and compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Monitor and analyze production data to identify trends, diagnose issues, and recommend improvements or corrective actions.
  • Monitor real-time data from various petroleum production systems and equipment, analyzing for performance, trends, and anomalies.
  • Implement and manage real-time surveillance tools and systems to enhance production efficiency and safety.
  • Troubleshoot tank battery and facility issues as they arise.
  • Collaborate with geoscientists, reservoir engineers, and other professionals to develop integrated production solutions and optimize field development plans.
  • Develop and implement artificial lift strategies to maximize hydrocarbon recovery from wells and formations.
  • Develop workover procedures for troubleshooting production and injection wells.
  • Conduct well testing and performance analysis to evaluate reservoir potential and production capacity.
  • Develop and execute algorithms and models to predict equipment failures, optimize production, and reduce downtime.
  • Provide technical support and guidance for the installation, calibration, and maintenance of real-time monitoring equipment.
  • Conduct root cause analyses for any production issues identified through surveillance and recommend corrective actions or improvements.
  • Maintain accurate well records including field inventories of assets in connection with wells.
  • Prepare technical reports, production forecasts, and presentations for management and stakeholders.
  • Monitor and report on lease operating expenses.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in oil and gas production engineering.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience in oil and gas production engineering or a related role.
  • Proficient in production engineering software and tools.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make well-informed, timely decisions.
  • Strong technical proficiency in real-time surveillance systems and data analysis tools.
  • Advanced skills in data analytics, machine learning, or artificial intelligence as applied to production engineering.
  • Familiarity with SCADA systems and other real-time monitoring tools.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, capable of working effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices in oil and gas production.
  • Commitment to safety, environmental compliance, and continuous improvement.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Master's degree in Petroleum Engineering or related field.
  • Experience with workovers, artificial lift technologies, production facilities, and production chemical best practices.
  • Familiarity with reservoir engineering concepts and practices.

Working Conditions:

  • Office setting with regular field visits, which may involve exposure to varying weather conditions, hazardous materials, and industrial environments.
  • Availability for on-call duty, emergency response, and potential travel to field locations as required.
  • On call during night shifts of CST time zone.
