About This Role
Strava is hiring an Engineering Manager for our Activities Team. This is an opportunity to lead a team that is focused on the activity experience, one of the core aspects of Strava’s product. The team is responsible for backend systems that process millions of activities a day, as well as athlete-facing experiences that are both high-traffic and core to Strava’s paid feature offering. As an Engineering Manager you will be responsible for the engineering execution of product strategy and supporting the career development of engineers on the team.

Lead and grow a team of mobile and server engineers

Partner closely with product, design and analytics to identify, design, and deliver new product experiences as well as refine and optimize existing product experiences.

Work on a highly collaborative cross functional team

Nurture an inclusive and high performing team culture

Work closely with other engineering leaders on team wide initiatives such as hiring, the intern program, and the technology vision
You will be successful here by:

Demonstrating empathy for users and their experience while using Strava

Coaching the engineers on the team and supporting their career development at all different levels and career stages

We’re excited about you because:

You have led engineers as an Engineering Manager or Tech Lead on a small team (or have equivalent wisdom)

You have experience managing product releases, and have demonstrated skill at shipping features on a regular cadence.

You have experience with hiring software engineers

You have worked on customer-facing applications at scale

You have experience managing a distributed team
