We are looking for a server engineering intern to help us build the future of Strava. If you are excited by cutting edge technology and want to spend a summer building features that millions of Strava athletes will use, please consider applying!
Interns at Strava are treated as full-time members of the engineering team. We’ll give you experienced mentors and all the tools you need to make a meaningful impact on our product. Here are some sample projects from former interns:
- Migrate our search infrastructure to Elasticsearch
- Upgrade the schema of one of our largest datasets
- Build a flexible storage solution for our Heatmaps feature
- Support thousands of API Developers
- Perform a series of A/B tests to improve the athlete onboarding experience
You’re excited about this opportunity because you will:
Build the next generation of the Strava experience alongside a team of passionate and talented engineers.
- Learn to build and deploy services in a modern microservice architecture.
Innovate during Strava Jams when engineers have four uninterrupted days to hack on a project of their choosing.
Directly impact the experience of tens of millions of athletes.
You will be successful here by:
Collaborating with our internal partners in product, design, marketing, analytics, and support.
- Passion and curiosity for building product experiences and solving scaling issues.
Demonstrating a willingness to learn new things and being interested in figuring out tough problems. You know how to leverage the experience of others and when to ask for help.
We’re excited about you because you:
Are pursuing or recently completed BS in Computer Science or related fields
Are a rising senior (2023 grad).
- Are humble and empathetic with a willingness to learn.
- Awareness of general coding best practices, documentation, and testing.
