About This Role
Strava is growing! We are thrilled to be looking for an experienced and creative Learning and Development Manager to join our People team.
This is an exciting opportunity to be a strategic L&D partner. This person will apply a “superpower” of building trust and influencing career and leadership development, and using their program management skills to work through learning challenges in a balanced way.
This person will work closely with Strava's People Team leaders and People Business Partners, and with teammates at all levels across the organization. Specifically, this person will be the subject matter expert in driving our L&D initiatives that will focus on employee and manager development, and several areas of learning and training.
As a member of the People Team and reporting to the People Business Partner and DEI Lead, this person will help carry our truly “people-first” culture, and drive and execute learning programs. While contributing to other key organizational development projects.
We are passionate about supporting each of our teammates. By building equitable and inclusive policies, programs, and practices. It is important that this person share similar passions and is committed to helping incorporate antiracist strategies and policies into Strava's culture and processes over time.
If any of this sounds exciting, we would love to talk to you about joining the team! In this role you can help us build and develop our culture as we scale through the years ahead.
Please take a look at our Culture Blog to learn why Strava is such an outstanding place to work. See how our people-first approach shows up in real programs and experiences.
You are excited about this opportunity because you will:
Design high-impact, scalable learning experiences and initiatives across onboarding, leadership development, and career development
Collaborate with key stakeholders to re-envision scalable learning strategies that align with our business goals
Help assess organizational proficiencies. Researching additive offerings from outside partners and vendors in order to develop internal trainings that help scale our teams.
Support and grow our DEI programs. Including programmatic and partnership support for our identity groups, working with our events team to bring events to life, and helping support our antiracist culture through specific programs and learning opportunities
Promote a growth mindset approach and be an ambassador for learning on people-related projects and decisions that impact and optimize the team
You will be successful here by:
Being a well balanced facilitator and strong communicator that does not shy away from any question
Being an operational “right hand” to our People leads. Participating in meetings to help drive action items and deliverables that move our learning priorities forward, while identifying and unblocking obstacles
Assisting with ad-hoc organizational development projects, such as talent reviews, succession planning, and as a supporting teammate to our People Business Partners in various ways
Liaising with the entire People team on company culture and our programs and people-approach, which will blend data insights with care and empathy
Helping support and develop our managers, and deliver appropriate feedback to them to drive impact and champion belonging throughout their teams
We are excited about you because:
You have 7+ years experience in a professional capacity closely supporting OD/ Learning and Development and/or program operations (Bonus if you have strong knowledge of training approaches, learning technology, DEI, and content creation)
You are highly organized, and an excellent communicator, facilitator, and listener with a balanced and thoughtful approach. You will also be adept at building trust with others, while promoting inclusivity within the teams, working in a variety of modalities (i.e. online, in-person, remote etc)
You have a keen understanding of people and team dynamics, with an ability to glean insights and action solutions that bring others along the way
You are highly accountable and organizationally minded individual who is skilled at project management, and who can carry many simultaneous initiatives forward and prioritize fluidly as needs change
You posses and can demonstrate a growth mindset, the desire to learn and continually improve, and to help others do the same
